35 Chapter 35 Clearing the Prison Part 2

The next morning John woke up early, he left the bed as quietly as possible. He succeeded in not waking any of his sleeping beauties.

Then he walked out of the cell and left the cell block, making sure to lock the cell block before he left. John then went through the rest of the cell block and cleared any walkers he could find. He only found 10 walkers and they were all locked up in different cells.

John then moved on and went to cell block D, This cell block was filled with walkers, they were everywhere. The prisoners must have been taken here, so they wouldn't be exposed to anyone who was infected. John thought about a couple possible ways all these prisoners could have been turned into walkers.

A prisoner could have been infected or a prisoner had been killed and then became a walker and it spread so quickly that they couldn't escape in time. Either way it was a good thing that all these walkers had been confined in this cell block or else it would have been way harder to take this prison. The prison was very large and probably held thousands of prisoners. That is a small army and definitely not something the group could handle.

As John walked through the halls, swinging his knife and chopping heads, John was able to find a large number of pistols that had been on guard walkers. John would put these guns in a bag he had brought with him. John also found quite a few shotguns, but they were definitely rarer than pistols.

Walking further in, John saw a big ass walker, it was around 7 foot tall, and it looked gross. Its whole body had been chewed on and it looked like a giant piece of rotting flesh. John expected the walker to be special or something because he had watched other zombie movies and shows, but the walker was the same as any walker and it was not special in any way. Sure, it was a little stronger than the average zombie, but it was in no way special, like the tank in "Left 4 Dead". It was also way slower than John and it was cut up real nice.

John continued to clear this cell block for a while, eventually he reached the last door and it led to a small fenced in area. Walking out of the cell block, John went to the other cell blocks and did the same thing there as well.

John then rested for a while, even though he wasn't tired at all. He just wanted to spend some more time with his girls. He played game with Sarah as he talked with Amy and Maggie. He said, "Hey do you want to move into one of the towers outside. We could have some more privacy, and the view is nice".

Amy and Maggie then blushed some as they nodded their heads. Seeing this, John had them follow him outside and he asked them which tower they should reside in. Both Amy and Maggie had chosen the tower right next to the gate that led to the yard.

With both Amy and Maggie agreeing on the same tower, they went up inside. John then moved the desk over, along with the chair. This created more room, for them to set up their living arrangements. They set up a couple beds they had taken from the cells before they covered them in soft sheets.

John ran back to their cell and grabbed their stuff before bringing it to the tower. When all of their stuff was there, they sat down on the beds and played uno with Sarah. Sarah won each game, and she was giggling the whole time. I mean it's not like we let her win on purpose, right?

Anyway, John played games with his family for a while, then he left them and went to the cell block A, where Rick and a group of guys had gone in order to move the bodies of walkers out of the prison. John walked into the cell block and was surprised to see that the prisoners had been helping, in order to prove themselves. The group was moving the bodies onto several carts, for an easier transportation.

With the carts they were able to move quicker and in 5 hours they were able to clear the bodies out of cell block A, B, C, D, and E. They had only stopped because it was getting late, and everyone was hungry and ready for dinner.

The group arrived in cell block C, and they were surprised to see that Hershel was up and he was sitting eating some rice and beans. Everyone was happy to see that Hershel was well, Maggie and Beth were smiling.

John was a little shocked by how quickly Hershel had been able to recover from his wound. Usually, a man who had lost a limb would be in denial for a while, not to mention that the pain he must be feeling is definitely not a little, even if he is on some heavy drugs.

When everyone had finished eating dinner John left with his family to their tower. During dinner they had told everyone about how they had moved into the tower. Arriving at the top of the tower John held Amy and Maggie close as he lay down, Sarah snuggled into her spot on his chest.
