3 Chapter three- Who is that?

I sat down in math class and took out my books. I solved the 'Do Now' on the board and watched the clock eagerly. I was so excited to go home and see Cooper that I didn't hear the teacher talk to me. I had totally spaced out.

"I'm sorry can you please repeat that?" I asked kindly hoping that my kindness would make up for my daydreaming.

"No, next time you should pay more attention. I told you to solve the problem on the board. I explained how to do that kind of problem yesterday," my math teacher replied, and I swear, fumes were coming out of his ears. I stood up and walked to the board. Crap! I wasn't in math yesterday! I was at the vet with Cooper since he was having stomach problems. I was not fond of my math teacher, Mr.Jester, because even if I explained why I wasn't at class, he still wouldn't believe me. I picked the expo marker up and held it an inch off the board. I was puzzled, what were we even doing? I could hear the teacher's shoe tap against the floor impatiently.

"Any day now please," he said while looking at his invisible watch.

"Leave her alone," I heard a voice say, "I was distracting her yesterday so she doesn't know how to solve that kind of problem." I spun around. A dark haired boy met my eyes. I almost jumped backwards as I saw that his eyes were yellow. I looked at him again and saw that he had green eyes. The light must of been playing tricks on me. Who was he? I'd never seen him before. I wish I could talk to him. This stranger just saved my butt, and I don't even know his name! I really hope Mr.Jester would go easy on him! But boy was he cute, and I thought Aaron was cute! I was certain that I would of noticed him. He was different than most of the other boys, he wasn't a jock, or a nerd, or...anything. He was everything, and maybe nothing. I was making so many assumptions about him without even knowing him. Oh my goodness I had a boyfriend, what was I thinking. Ugh, But don't even get me started on how cute-

"Emily? Earth to Emily?" he snapped as I sat down in my seat with my face crimson red.

"Adam, your heroics have landed you in her position. Go up there and solve the math problem," he commanded. I felt so guilty for not being in class, and now subjecting an innocent boy to this torture! With every waking second I wanted to get out of this class. I bet I could jump out the window and not break anything if I'm careful. It's only two stories. Or maybe I could just walk out of class. Nah, I like the window idea better. Now I know his name, Adam. I gazed at his hand as it danced across the whiteboard. The board that was empty was governed in algebraic expressions and equations. Adam put the marker down and stared right at Mr. Jester, which was a very bold move, and said, "Done."
