Escaped God

ZhiYi left the Misty Forest behind him with a heavier heart than he had expected. What at first was to be just a quick visit, told him of more trouble to come. If Su Lang's people already scouted out his private grounds, looking for the brothers' remains, it would only be a question of when they would reach the cliffside.

Although neither ZhiYi nor PingZe had told anyone about the burial sites, ZhiYi wasn't taking any chances. After releasing lanterns towards the Heaven's for 997 years, it was bound to be noticed at least by someone.

ZhiYi hoped PingZe had received his message. The talisman would only unfold itself and let itself be caught by the person it was meant to. He had made sure his notes wouldn't be read by anyone else. If caught mid delivery, the talisman would burn itself, destroying the message with it. While there was no risk of being read by unwanted eyes, it could have been destroyed midway.
