9 Chapter 8

It's around 8 am when I open my eyes to the bright sunny day. I look at the other side of the bed. Rachael isn't there. I call her name out loud, but I don't get a response.

I start panicking , cuz she never goes out without telling me and now she's probably not in the house. I get up quickly from the bed, come out of the bedroom and only then I realise what has happened. I think the friend in me is still alive even after yesterday's event.

I check my phone to see 2 missed calls from an unknown number. I call back and the person to pick the call is a cop. He says me he found this number in Racheal's phone.

I don't understand, why is her phone with him. I ask if everything's okay ?and the reply I get is dreadful.

" Miss Alina, Racheal's car met with an accident on a highway 15 mins from your home last night. I wanted to share the same with you. And ummm.... I'm really sorry to say, Racheal passed away on the spot."

" What are you telling? This can't happen. Last night she was with me. Both of us went to sleep and she didn't go anywhere!"

" But ma'am we have found her body completely destroyed by the force she bumped into another car."

" Is the other car driver alive? " I just want to make sure.

" No ma'am, ummm I really feel sorry for you. The other car driver was apparently your husband. The force by which they hit each other. They were dead on spot."

" WHAT? no please... Tell me the truth. This can't happen"

" I'm sorry ma'am. Please come and collect the bodies. I pray to god that he gives you strength. Please take care."

He cuts the call and now I feel it, the pain of losing two important people in my life. How much ever I hated them, I can't be separated from them. But look at thier fate... They ended up dying together too!

<Next day>

It's thier funeral. My husband's and my best friend's funeral! It's soo much to take in. The pain, people crying all around, the fake expression I have to put up and the sudden realisation that I got my revenge... It's all just too much.
