The Voiceless Princess

"I love you" he had told her earlier that night, but she didn't believe him. That was a lie, wasn’t it? It had to be one! After all, how could he love her when she was… abnormal and defective? And more importantly, how could he love her when she was unable of even loving herself? The first thing she thought was that maybe he was making fun of her, as that was the only logical enough reason. But deep down she knew he wasn't that kind of person, which confused her even more. She didn't know what to think or how to respond. His gaze was so intense, his voice so sincere. It was simply overwhelming.
