7: Cool kay

Stepping down at the airport was a relief as the flight was exhausting. Crowded with various people, the airport was buzzing with life...*more like buzzing with noise*... It vividly reminded Catherine of Heathrow but only in the latter were few Africans. They had arrived at Lagos, like her father had mentioned earlier was the busiest state in Nigeria. She felt grandly treated as the officials in the airport seemed to welcome them with respect. Now Catherine was feeling the effects of having put on her velvet hoodie matching it underneath with a white t-shirt which she thought was cool because it had the words "don't care" inscribed on them perfectly matching her mood. Paired with her black skinny jeans, Catherine felt she was good to go but had she been warned earlier of the unwelcomed change in climate due her flight, she would have gone with a choice of less clothing..*haha!*... Looking out of the glass in the airport she noticed the bright clouds and the hot wind it carried with it. The cars packed orderly in the parking lot shone as rays of light reflected on the individual colours. Visuals and audios of aircrafts diving to the ground and skillfully balancing to roll out on the smooth endless road reminded Catherine of birds. Edward had finished the procedures and was walking towards her with their luggage. She helped carry...*Finally useful*... and walk towards the Nigerian who was eagerly waving a white cardboard with the initials 'The Winstons' boldly written in black ink to oppose the white background. Her father was relieved as he spotted him and waved back to which he rushed enthusiastically towards them to help with the luggage.

The luggage was loaded up into the boot of the black Range Rover jeep and they started their second journey with the gleeful African leading the way. Kayode was the name of the young cheery chap. Black beautiful skin tone with chocolate colored eyes and a funny looking moustache took to the wheels. Wearing a stripe yellow tshirt paired with grey shorts and matching yellow coloured sneakers with black shades gave him the youthful and playful aura. He spoke so passionately of his country as he told Edward who was listening to him with undivided attention as he was excited and amused at the stories the young man was uttering...Hi, Catherine...you must be miss Winston,it's great to finally meet you...I have heard a lot about you from eddy here...He finally said smiling at her through the front mirror cutting Edward's statement and finally giving recognition to her existence. The pleasure is mine...Mr ka.yor.de...she said struggling to pronounce his name without accidentally blurting out coyote instead...you could just call me kay...He said with a laugh and it was then she heard his accent that had a tingle of British in it. She couldn't help but smile and take a liking towards this friend of her father. As though the clouds couldn't help but feel sad at their early departure, rain started to pour like tears from the sky...*sad?...ha!..those were tears of joy*,just as they drove by the terminal with the signboard that wrote in large printings"Goodbye from Lagos state".
