2 nd Chapter: Capture

It was the night when I'd be abandoning home, though I still have to eat dinner with my siblings and our parents. They were continuously chatting with each other while I silently ate to avoid spilling out any information about my plans on leaving. It might be harder than usual, because they have caught me several times already with my plans. It's embarrassing for me to not be secretive with them, so I decided I'd be talking about nothing on the dining table. But even my father noticed I wasn't talking like usual. So he asked me; "Is something wrong, Guinevere?"

I jumped on my seat, "I-it's nothing. I'm fine." and gave a small nervous laugh. "I think she's just worried about her marriage..." my mother said to father, making me a bit uneasy with it. After our dinner I immediately went inside my bedroom to avoid any other questions that would come right up from their lungs.

I sighed flopping on my bed with my back turned down. The collision made me bounce a little until I was completely resting on my bed. I hoped not to get drowsy along the way or even get hungry. I hoped that I wouldn't get caught riding my horse in the middle of the night.

I hoped that I'd be able to find my brother.

Hours passed by and waiting a long time made me shut my eyes a little. I opened my eyes and looked at the clock. It was midnight. But even at this hour, guards are still on guard. I had to think of a plan to outsmart them, but my drowsiness makes me think of sleep. Fortunately, I had a window in my room that actually leads to the isolated stable. I stepped up and approached the window. The ground was way down below that it might actually kill me. I was not going to risk that.

That's when an idea popped up into my head. I turned back to my bed and yanked off the bedsheets. I gathered clothes from my dresser and tied them all into a lengthy rope. I reluctantly looked around to see if anyone was watching or even if the guards were looking at my window from below.

'Wait... Doesn't this look too cliche?' I thought, narrowing my eyes and frowning, 'This looks like one of those princess stories in the fantasy books I read.' the idea slightly disgusted me, but I had to do it so I could reach my horse.

I threw down the end of the knotted clothes and tied the other end on the window handle. I stepped up on the open window and once again checked my surroundings. "This is it, Guinevere," I said to myself, "I wish you luck on finding Lancelot." then I slowly slid down on the knotted clothes. When I arrived on the ground, I quickly made a run for it to my horse. It was a bit too far on the east side of the castle.

I was glad I'd be able to find Lancelot now. Not only that, but I was also able to get away from the marriage. I know this isn't what a lady should be doing. I haven't even been this rebellious to my family.

After I finally held my horse and mounted him, I immediately yanked the rope to send him galloping. Finally, leaving home. When I was still a child, I've always wondered what would it feel like to one day leave home and venture the Land of Dawn. In my studies of magic, there are countless power sources of magic throughout the land. Like the Southern Abyss, where the creatures had lost their magic stone. I wonder how they lost it. Maybe a thief? Or a wizard? Whoever it was, they need be careful because these creatures are very protective for their belongings. They're not the type to surrender even though their foe is really powerful.

Me and my horse soon left home and entered a dark forest after minutes of riding.
