3 My Husband's Lover (2)

I stayed in my room the whole day. I recalled the events in the novel. After Guowei found out Yanyu's true colors, Yanyu stopped acting coy. She started to attack aggressively.

Every now and then, Jie would enter to send me my meal. I knew she was curious of what I was doing because when I ate, she kept on taking a glance at the paper I used.

It was in the middle of the night when I finished writing all the events in the novel. But I could only write until Chapter 7 because I stopped to curse Yanyu.

"Were you looking for me?"

It was the old man.

"Wow. You keep appearing out of nowhere. Ex nihilo at its best."

"I heard you were looking for me."

"I was, but I don't need you anymore. I'm going to stay here."

"Well, even if you beg you will still stay here."

"Wow. You're really a great God."

"Thank you." He looked at the paper and asked, "So what are you planning to do?"

I stood up and showed him the paper. "I, Jingyi, a true fan of QinWei will do my best to help them with their love story. Everything has been planned out in detail. I call this Operation: QinWei Forever."

"That is one creative name. Are you not worried about that Aarin book?"

"I have many opportunities to have that book, but I only have this one opportunity to help my OTP."

"But Guowei is your husband."

"Guowei loves Liqin. This is the power of love."

"What about Yanyu?"

"Yanyu can die."

I waited behind the trees. When I saw Liqin approaching, I ran towards him. His eyes grew wide. It was understandable. They were going to have a secret rendezvous and I, the wife, was there.

"Liqin, don't talk about Guowei's parents. He won't like it. He can take it if you talk about his mother. But if you mention his father, he'll get angry. I don't want any lovers' quarrel to happen here tonight."

When I heard footsteps, I spoke in a lower volume. "Do not mention his parents. I'll be watching you."

I hid behind the trees and Guowei finally entered the scene. They hugged and talked about many things. Everything happened according to the novel except that Liqin kept on glancing at my direction.

"I will bring you to my hometown next week," Guowei said.

My heart started beating fast. It was almost when Liqin would mention his parents. But I already told Liqin so hopefully they would not quarrel.

"So I can finally meet your parents," Liqin said.

I facepalmed. Was it really that hard to avoid just one topic? After awhile, the two started raising their voices.

"You do not need to meet them."

"Then you can tell me about them."

"There is no need to talk about them."

"Guowei, I know nothing about you."

"You do not need to know everything about me. Let us talk again tomorrow."

When Guowei left, I sat beside Liqin. He was crying. I caressed his back.

"Didn't I tell you not talk about his parents?"

"You should be happy. Is this not what you want?" he said while sobbing.

"No, I'm not happy. I'm irritated. I told you not to talk about his parents then you did. Are you stupid or stupid?"

"I also want to know as much as you."

"Liqin, Liqin, Liqin. I don't know about his parents. I just know that he gets angry when you mention them. At least you just got a shout. I got flying glasses, you know?"

He wiped his tears and looked at me. "Why are you doing this? Should you not rejoice that your husband's lo-"

I put my hand on his mouth and dragged him behind the trees. The guards were doing their night patrol. I was too immersed in scolding Liqin I had forgotten that he had to leave this place immediately.

I spoke softly, "The guard are here."

"Then we have no reason to hide."

He was about to stand up, but I grabbed him. As a result, I fell on top of him. The guards noticed the ruckus and walked towards our direction.

"If they find you here, they are going to report you to Dingxiang. He will turn you into a thief."

"But he is your brother."

"He doesn't care about that shit."

When one of the guards flashed a light on us, I immediately hugged him. I buried my head into his chest so as not to expose my face.

The guard cleared his throat and said, "You could have gotten a room."
