9 Chapter Nine: Royal Library

The next stop was the royal library, the place where Lyra mostly go to. "Would you like to take a look inside?" Lyra asked the two siblings.

"I think my brother would like that. All he does is study, hehe." Hazel teased her brother. Kyst just gave her a side look.

"Okay." They started making their way into the royal library. "What kind of books do you like to read, Prince Kyst?"

"History."

"Ah, we should go over here then." Lyra showed him where the history section is.

"Do you frequently go here, Miss Lyra?" Hazel said with a curious expression in her eyes, Lyra seems to be rather familiar with the layout of the royal library and it's not every day you see a child wanting to learn.

"I would go here occasionally."

"Oh wow. That's pretty impressive."

Lyra just nodded and walked over to a specific part of the history section. "If you want to learn the history of the Avgí Empire, I would recommend this book." She passes the book over to Prince Kyst.

"How do you know?" Prince Kyst has been learning about the history of the Aygí Empire after he found out he was coming over to the Avgí Empire. But the books he found in the Fotiá Empire don't have much on the Avgí Empire.

"Your face says it all," Lyra said. Seeing through people was one of Lyra's gift that she gained in this life after observing people's behaviors. "Oh."

"Would you like to read it here?"

"Okay." Prince Kyst went to one of the seats and sat down. He started reading the book that Lyra gave him. "..." He's really straightforward, Lyra thought. "What kind of books do you like, Princess Hazel?"

"Ah, I don't really like reading." Princess Hazel said. She wanted to hide the fact that she reads romance fiction, it would be embarrassing to say it in front of nobility. Not wanting to push it, Lyra just stayed quiet before walking to another section of genre. This section is quite small compared to the rest of the library, people wouldn't normally go to this section. "I think this book is quite interesting, you might like it, Princess Hazel." Lyra handed her a romance fiction book, the cover looks nothing like one but the content was exactly was of romance. The cover makes it look like a history book.

At first, when Lyra first saw that romance fiction books were in the Royal Library, she was quite surprised. But then she remembered that one of the royal member was also near her age and maybe likes reading these types of books.

"Ah, I don't think I like hist-" Princess Hazel looked inside the book a bit before staring at Lyra in surprise. "How-"

She gave the same reply but with a wink. "Your face says it all."

"Ah."

"You can go sit down with Prince Kyst and enjoy your book." With a smile, she showed Princess Hazel to the sitting area where Prince Kyst was. "Enjoy."

Lyra looked around the library for a bit before going to her siblings. "This book is for you, sister. While this book is for you, brother." Lyra handed a book about swordsmanship to Violet while handing a book about the Fotiá Empire to Oliver.

"Ah, I'm surprised Lyra." Violet stood there in shock while Lyra was getting a book for the prince and princess. She never knew that her sister could read people so well.

"And thank you for the book."

"You're welcome. Don't worry sister, this book is one of the best books regarding different techniques and the basics about swordsmanship. and don't worry brother, this book is the best book regarding information about the Fotiá Empire. I checked the source myself." Lyra said with a proud expression on her face. Feeling a hand on her head, she looked to see that it was Oliver. "Thank you." They both said.

All of them went to sit down all reading different books. Lyra also brought a book, the book talks about the different magic abilities that people can have. Yes, this world did have magic. In her past life she remembered having mana and mind control, everyone was shocked when they found out and many people tried to suck up to her. But many people that weren't from their empire also wanted to kill her, fearing that the Avgí Empire would become too powerful with her help.

She was stupid in her past life thinking that her magical abilities was a gift, but in honesty, it wasn't. Her abilities brought her many troubles but because of her family status, those people couldn't do anything to her. But some of them badly wanted to kill her or use her so they tried to ruin the Duke's name. She didn't know about these things until she was put in prison, her father didn't tell her any of these. Thinking back, those people must've planned it out with the prince, no wonder he didn't kill her.

Her abilities were extremely rare.

Mana and mind control were the rarest ability that someone can have. Fire, water, wind, and earth were the most common. Lightning, strength, ice, plant, and metal, were on the uncommon level. Light, dark, teleport, and healing were rare. But mana and mind control were on another level. With mana, you can do anything. Mana means having all of the abilities from common to rare. And combine with mind control that could control another person's thought, Lyra was a person that everyone was after.

Lyra remembered that on her 8th birthday, she would have to reveal her magic abilities, but she doesn't want to reveal her trump cards just yet. Lyra has been trying to think of different methods to hide her abilities when the time comes. She thought of disguising her abilities as some other type of ability but she can't think of a way to change the crystal stone images. She also thought of using mind control on everyone when the time comes but that plan won't be able to work since her strength is too weak to use it on everyone there. All the nobles from the lower to the upper will be there and some of them are really strong.
