1 Happy Birthday?

It was the 16th birthday as well as the coming of age of the only daughter of the two most famous people of the kingdom, Eleanor Blache Ambroise. Everyone had expected that the Ambroise couple would celebrate the birthday of the young Eleanor with a grand celebration with all high ranking nobles as the attendees.

But contrary to their expectations, the Ambroise family announced earlier that month that they instead opted for the least taken option wherein it is only a private gathering for the small family of three.

The said birthday dinner for Eleanor of the Ambroise family started cheerfully with them chatting with one another about trivial matters currently surrounding them and the funny things that had happened ages ago as they merrily eat their fill.

Yet between the meal, Maëlys Luna suddenly turned serious and told her daughter that there was something she had to admit before it was too late.

After pausing and inhaling some air, she continued, "Eleanor, you are an abnormality, an existence that wasn't supposed to exist." Maëlys Luna said, her beautiful red eyes staring daggers at her own daughter, Eleanor as the cheerful mood at the dining table suddenly faded as weird tension arises in the room.

Eleanor, the subject of attention of the piercing stare, on the other hand, became stiffed as she let her own mother's painful words sink into her. Her thin body silently quivering as her blue crystal eyes trembled with tears gathering at the corner of her eyes...

Just kidding.

The said Eleanor was actually not that paying that much attention at all to her mother's remarks!

Well, she did find those remark particularly weird and hurtful. But then again, who had the time to think about such trivial matters when you are currently eating a delicious parfait and there are still more scrumptious meal to follow? What's more her mother tends to say lots of weird sounding things so in a way this wasn't really that shocking anymore(?).

Thus that elegant looking but actually food addict young girl just responded with a short hum of acknowledgment to her mother as she continued to swallow down her beloved parfait blissfully with her body even trembling and eyes watering in the process.

But of course, no one can truly comprehend the mysterious yet simple thought process of food lovers unless there are one themselves which is why to others Eleanor just looks like a young bullied child trying to painfully accept a fault that was not true.

And so Elias Pierre, being a responsible father righteously throw an unused tablespoon at Maëlys Luna forehead to redirect his wife's glare to him.

"My stupid fool Luna..." he began, sighing as he rubbed scrunched up eyebrows.

"What weird things are you talking about again?"

Luna's glare intensifies as she replies haughtily, "Tch. I am only doing what you told me to! And besides I am no fool nor I am yours." She then proceeded to look sideways, eyes not meeting her husband as she pretends to just rubbed her forehead that was hit by the spoon when the truth was she was just hiding the faint blush that had appeared on her cheeks.

Ahhh his wife really is the cutest! That was Elias first thought when he saw the scene. However, as his gaze passed by his poor daughter, he suddenly got awakened from his reverence.

"Alas! I am the actual fool my daughter was already suffering and looking so lost from what happened yet I still dare to have such thoughts!" he thought to himself sadly, not knowing that his daughter who was "looking lost from what happened" was just having a hard time choosing what to eat next after she finished her parfait!

Coughing slightly, Elias continued speaking to his wife, "Yes, I told you to explain to our child the current situation of things and how things became this way before classes start but this was really now what I had in mind when I said that." He sighed again sounding hopeless but he was not able to hide the slight doting in his tone.

Really, now he was glad that their daughter's birthday was just a simple dining celebration between the three of them albeit trying to disagree with the idea of his wife who in his opinion was too over-protective of their child. Just thinking about what would happen to their family if there are many or any guests today just makes him shiver.

"You should be clearer in explaining it or at the very least try not to sound like you want our daughter to stop existing." he chided her softly.

Hearing his words, Luna pouted dejectedly. "You know I never want to imply that.." then she lowered her head then quietly asked, "So how should I-I mean, how should we tell her about it Elias?"

Elias slowly reached out and grabbed Luna's hands, slowly bringing it to his hold and squeezing it lightly for reassurance. "It is okay, I am here." he sweetly reminded her.

Luna nodded at him then look at their daughter. "Eleanor," she softly began " This world was similar to the otome game I once played before was in my character was supposed to be the villain and your father was supposed to be just one of the capture targets. Now, the second part of the game is about to begin. But you were never supposed to be there."

"Err mother, what is an otome game?" Eleanor confusedly asked.

Elias silently facepalmed, secretly wishing that he shouldn't have believed his wife's explaining skills regarding these things and just took it upon himself.
