10 Edmond flashback (3)

One day while both of them were busy with their sneaky training, some noise came from outside shouting at the prison guard. Edmond and his tutor were scared to get caught so Austin left the dungeon before someone reach them.

Not long after Austin left the dark room, someone came banging on his dungeon door then he heard cranking of keys and the rusting door, someone open the door of his dungeon.

Then a bulky big man entered with two guards, he said

" it's time for you to get out from your nest and work outside you bastards"

and pull him by his hair outside the dark room.

When Edmond was pull outside the room he can't open his eyes due to the sudden sunlight, he closed his eyes while being pulled down the corridor without mercy, Edmond didn't curse nor berated them but he take a deep breath to calm himself down.

When he find himself much better he open his eyes to watch his surrounding, at this Moment that he realise they were imprisoned in an island with no route to escape. Those who were brought here they will not able to get out and the way to escape their torture is only dead.

They were surrounded by the mass ocean which they couldn't see anything but water , everyone give up their plans to escape and decided their fates in that stinky place. There were around hundred of them being imprisoned in that dungeon, some of them look thin and fragile like they were imprisoned and torture for too long, that they give up their will to lives.

They look haggard and smell like shit with their torn and rag clothes just like him, among all of them only Austin and Edmond same fine even though they were imprisoned in that dark room, they didn't lost their sanity.

Then a head guard came forward and said " everyone starts forming in line, you got a work to do" with that he walked away.

Edmond saw the same bulky man who pull him from his cell walked towards them and starts command them in a rough and icy tone to follow him and finish the job or they will starved themselves. With a cheeky smirk he looked at Edmond and left.

On their way to their work place assigned them, Austin approach Edmond and whisper " don't do anything suspicious, just follow their command , remember you were the only child here don't show what you have learn or your life will suffer, and don't talk to anyone not even me" he left Edmond side and continue his work.

Edmond nodded his head and starts doing his jobs which is to dig the earth to search a blue stone, which is a very good for business at that time, this kind if stone is not common so it was hard for them to find it, they have to dig several layers of the earth to find their target , sometimes they didn't even get not even one stone for the whole month.

But all the prisoners didn't have a choice but continue with their job assigned to them to finish everyday, without quarreling and accept their fate.

But not Edmond, every night when he came back from his work back to his dark room, he started planning his way out, because his room got only one door so it's hard for him to escape when he was locked inside so the best way to escape is only during their work time.

So every night when Austin came to his cell to teach him his lesson, Edmond would tell him all the inner route of their escape, they will make plan every night and figure out their work in piece.

But their plans didn't function anytime soon, they didn't know that they had spend almost all their years in that dark room and ratting the mountains. Months turned to years, and years turned to next years. Until one day it was Edmond 18 birthday, that day while they. . . .
