The Devils eyes

A mysterious man awoke, in a wooden broken down cabin, that anyone would think it had been abandoned for decades on end.

The man's eyes were pitch red, even his pupils were red, many people even wondered how the man could see. People even thought he was the incarnation of the devil.

He was bullied in school, and kicked out of his home, because people used to throw rocks at his house condemning him for having his red eyes.

He ran into a forest and never come out, to never be seen again, he ate what he could find, plants, animals he caught with his bare hands, and lived in a abandoned hut he found, it was run down but it was better than being made fun of, and bullied for his red eyes.

He didn't want this life, he wanted to be loved, and happy, but he knew that wasn't possible.

The world wasn't fair but he accepted it long ago. He has been living in the hut for years now but he didn't think it was so bad. Being all alone, he was well used to it by now, and even started enjoying it. But he knew one day someone would find this place and find him along with it.

So he enjoyed every last second of it. He got up from his worn down wooden bed, and opened the door to see carrots on the wooden countertop that he washed in the river, to get the dirt off. He picked up one of them and ate them like he's been starved for a week.

After he was done he walked out of the hut, into the front yard, and admired the sight of the towering trees that pierced the clouds. He sometimes wondered what it felt like to fly above the sky's, but he knew it was unrealistic so he shrugged the thought off

He suddenly heard rustling in the bushes, he dashed towards his hut, and shut the door. Trying to stay as quiet as possible, when he got in the hut he looked through the window trying to find the source of the sound. Suddenly he heard shouting.

"Over here adventures!"

He was shocked it wasn't a animal, but a human voice, he had only heard his own voice for years on end, and was startled hearing another human's voice. He was also curious about what they meant by adventures, he had never heard of people called adventures.

Was it some type of job he thought to himself, suddenly he saw the humans. It was a group of 3 people, they didn't wear modern clothes, but they looked like vikings.

Wearing metal armor, equipped with long swords, and bows. They walked through the leaves and trees and arrived in front of the worn down hut.

"Bryan, is this the place the captain told us to investigate" Sofie said pointing at the hut, looking at the team leader who was name Bryan, and her other teammate who was a little shy and was named Jack

Bryan looked at his book that he held in his hand, there was a hand drawn map written on it, and there was a x on the map.

"Yes, this is the spot, the captain said this hut, just suddenly appeared in the forest of twilight" He said looking at the cabin in front of them, with curious eyes,

They walked up to the door and pounded on the door, each knock felt like a lightning strike.

Duke, was scared because of the pounding and quickly hid behind the counter tops, worried what would happen to him if he was caught.

A loud bang could be heard as they busted through the door, wooden chips flying everywhere.

"Hello!" Bryan screamed wondering if anyone lived here, he accidentally used too much of his strength and blasted through the door.

He walked in slowly, the other following closely behind him. He looked around and saw worn down furniture and a pile of carrots, on the counter top.

They slowly walked further in. Duke's heart was racing, beating faster than it ever had. his hands were sweating, he placed his hand on the counter top and tried to peek over, but he accidentally hit a carrot and knocked it over, making a slight thud sound, but loud enough for the adventurers to hear.

He panicked. The group of adventurers noticed the sound and walked towards it at a steady pace.

"Be careful, it could be a monster" Bryan said, sneaking towards the counter, Jack and Sophie following closely behind

"Sophie use your detect spell" Bryan said whispering to Sophie

Sophie started saying words in what seemed like an ancient language, and pointed her arms out and an unknown energy started pouring out. It couldn't be seen to the naked eye, but for some reason, Duke could see it as clear as day.

Suddenly Duke's eyes started glowing, but no one noticed it even Duke himself, suddenly a robotic sound played in Duke's head.

[Nullification eye activated]

[Detect spell nullified]

[Detect spell successfully copied]

Sophie looked puzzled, she tried over and over again, but she didn't detect anything but the little bugs that were roaming around the space.

"Bryan I don't sense anything" She said, Bryan also looked puzzled.

"Are we hearing things" They laughed a little, but they stopped once they heard a creaking from the same spot.

"Do you think it's a monster that can't be detected, or an artifact that makes it so we can't detect them" Bryan said, confused not knowing what's going on.

Duke was just as confused, Nullification Eye, Detect skill, Copying, he has so many questions but so little answers.

He had no time to think about irrelevant stuff such as this

He knew he was going to get caught, he had to think, but he had no way to escape, they broke threw the wooden door, with ease. Even though my body was pretty toned from all the physical activity he had to do to survive, he was still human.

Byran moved closer, and closer till he finally peaked over the counter and saw Duke, he saw his pitch red eyes, and jumped back.

"ITS A DEMON!" He yelled at the top of his lungs, scared, but still lifted his sword off his hilt and pointed it towards the counter top.
