'She sure has a pretty unique skill.'

It truly was a surprise.

I wasn't talking about the skill— Incinerate [D] which was shown on the panel, but the skill mentioned at the bottom of it.

'Servitude [D]'

It was hard not to show my interest in such a skill.

However...

"Here, you can have it."

I had this pressing matter to heed to.

Extending my right hand I grabbed the serum bottle which was emptied out and was left with nothing more than the drug-induced in it.

"Seems like it's finally cold."

For the last half an hour, we were waiting for it to cool down.

"Now, I should leave," Alisha said.

Nodding my head, I agreed with her statement. Now that our matter was done, there was no need to hold her back.

And...

'I have already gained a lot more than expected.'

[..]

There were a lot of announcements in my notification feed, informing me about Alisha's increase in Favorability and Loyalty.

'This session of reaping has gone quite well.'

I gained a lot of valuables.

But even with that...

'Ouch!'

...Her Favorability was still in the negatives.

'Well, it's to be expected.'

I couldn't just assume that I would gain a shit ton of points in such a measly amount of time.

'At least, I now have some Loyalty points on her.'

This much was good enough for today.

...

One week later.

—Knock! Knock!

"Who is it?" Calvin inquired without glancing at the door, continuing on with his affairs.

"Master Lykus, I have important news to deliver."

"Come in."

—Click

"What is it?" Raising his head, Calvin glanced at the entrance to find one of the guards, standing in a respectful gesture, ready to utter his piece.

"...T-The Inquisition, they're here!"

"Ohhh!"

Hearing the information, he raised an eyebrow in intrigue.

'So, they are finally here. What is it that he is planning, that damn old man?!'

Calvin couldn't find a reason for The Inquisition to arrive so soon.

'Did he find a loophole? A reason to deem me a traitor? A heretic?'

He didn't know.

'But whatever it is, you will be disappointed.'

His plan was foolproof after all, or at least, that was what he thought.

Looking back at the guard, he asked a question.

"Who is the highest ranked inquisitor among them?"

"The Saintess, and The Archbishop."

'Ohhh, even The Saintess is here.'

"Have they arrived?"

...

"It's quite a fancy place, don't you think so, sister Vivian?" A 28-year-old man, with short silver hair which was neatly tied to the back of his head, asked in a merry voice.

And, just like his voice, the man didn't appear old and came off as a young lad who had barely passed his teenage years.

"Mnnn, It sure is." Hearing his question, a woman replied unenthusiastically, definitely not interested in this idle talk, continuing to scroll through her tablet, darting through some articles.

"Humph."

Getting such a response, the silver-haired man harrumphed in dissatisfaction.

However it was to no avail, in response, the only thing he got was silence.

"Why is Master Calvin still not here?"

"How would I know?"

"Well, we can just wait..."

Plenty of chatter.

"Shouldn't he have arrived by now?"

Some were questioning.

"He is the provisional head, of course, it would take time, he needs to see through a lot of affairs."

Some were justifying.

"But still... Master Calvin needs to know how to attend to his guests."

Some were complaining.

"Tsk. Is this how they treat their guests?"

...While others were dissatisfied.

All in all, there were a shit ton of arguments and conversations going on around the giant round table, at which everyone was seated on.

-Tak. -Tak.-Tak.

While they were conversing among themselves, a man wearing light armour walked into the room, he had the Insignia of Clan Ulfred etched atop his armour, indicating that he was a guard.

Stopping in front of Vivian, the woman with the highest authority among the present inquisitors, the guard bowed his head and relayed an order.

"Master Calvin will be here in due minutes, until then, please enjoy the relishes this clan has to offer."

—Clap! Clap!

Saying that the man clapped his hand, and a couple of servants walked into the room, pushing service carts ahead of them with a lot of delicacies on top of them, waiting to be devoured.

The maids and servants knew their assignments, and without delay, started to see through the needs of each individual, serving them the dishes they wanted, presenting them on the ginormous table.

...

In the middle of the hall, I was walking beside Alishia and Calvin, who looked undeterred by the sudden announcement of The Inquisition's dispatch.

Which was a given as we had known and were plotting against each other.

'Let's hope the conversation will turn out fun.'

I was quite excited for a lot of reasons.

'I really seem to enjoy this life a bit too much.'

At first, I was reincarnated without my own volition, so I just wanted to escape through it all, but with time, I came to realize that it wasn't so bad.

Again, not so good that I could dedicate my life to it.

—Click

Hearing the clicking sound, my thoughts came to a halt.

It was the sound of a door, opened by a guard for us to enter the scene, spamming with a lot of Inquisitors.

Thump!

Calvin immediately took the prominent spot which was vacant for the head, while we sat on the sideline.

"Apologies for my late arrival." He uttered, appearing quite righteous in his act.

"It's fine," Vivian answered.

"Now, if I may, could I know the significance behind the sudden visit of The Inquisition, more so The Saintess herself?" Calvin asked with a gracious smile on his face.

Putting down the cup of tea, Vivian looked at Calvin with her eyes, which were shadowed by deep dark circles, however, they didn't diminish the beauty she possessed, and unexpectedly, added a certain charm to her, making her a beautiful figure with long, red hair.

"I think Master Calvin is well aware of the reason," Vivian said plainly.

"And what if I say I don't?"

"Fufufu... Master Calvin sure knows how to jest." Interjecting in between, the silver haired man impersonated a womanly laugh.

"I'll be straight, this matter is of utmost importance, not just for The Inquisition, but for the well being of Master Calvin himself, so it would be better to not waste it on ideal talk." Vivian said outright, not hiding The Inquisition's intentions.

"And on what basis..?"

"It was an order passed by one of the Twelve Cardinals of The Inquisition."

Even though no one said anything, it was clear what they were conversing about.

"Mnnn... Is that so."

"All we want is cooperation from Master Calvin, so that we can help him remove these vile rumours."
