15 Scheme [3]

"Ma-Master Lykus, wh-where are we going?"

"My Dear Maid doesn't need to know that~. You just need to shut up and follow your master like a good maid."

"If that's what Master Lykus says."

This time she didn't stutter.

The reason was obvious, the word 'My'.

'Every time, it works as a charm.'

I am sure that she doesn't know, every time I say those words, her persona of a meek person crumbles. And I can feel murderous intent oozing from her.

But what can I do, I am just too petty of a person who believes in the philosophy of...

'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.'

And can go to any length just to get the satisfying revenge~.

But there is another reason to do that...

'It's just too damn satisfying to see her reaction~.'

Isn't that the same thing?

No, it's not.

I am a born Sadist, after all.

The only problem it has is that I can't use it too often or she might get suspicious of me.

However...

'It too won't be a problem after today.'

Thinking of that, I finally arrived at my destination, which appeared no more than a simple building situated in that area, which was true at least on the outside.

After that, I strode closer to the entrance, close enough for the door to automatically open, providing me with the relief to walk through without any hinder.

I continued to walk in for a few seconds before I found the compartment I was looking for:

[G-3]

After I entered the compartment, what appeared before me was a counter covered with glass. There were some strange letters etched at the bottom of the glass with the help of a Crystal, preferably a Blue-coloured crystal since it's best for architectural use.

There was a couch in front of the counter.

I walked towards it, sitting in a comfortable position.

I can see a silhouette on the other side of the glass. I couldn't Identity if the person was a male or a female since the glass was opaque.

However, that made me question.

'Can I use status on the person on another side of the glass?'

To test my assumption, I muttered status.

'I found you~.'

It was just too effortless.

Seems like the Goddess Of Luck is on my side.

Now that we are talking about luck...

'Her Luck is the lowest out of everyone I have seen so far, even Lykus who was a villain has higher Luck than her.'

Hearing my thoughts, System interjected:

[That is incorrect. The reason why the host possesses a higher Luck than Ashley isn't because of Lykus. It's because the remains of the host's Luck merged with Lykus's Luck, resulting in the current Luck of the host. The same applies to its potential.]

'Hmmm, it does make sense if I think it that way, but I don't have time to be more elaborate.'

Thinking that I turned my attention back to her status window.

She was just a pitiful E-rank, there wasn't much difference between her and me in terms of Stats. However, if we talk about potential, she was a lot more pitiful than me, as she has already reached her max-rank potential which was not even higher than an E-rank. Charm was her only stat that contained a D-rank potential and she has yet to attain it.

All in all, her stats were crappy, with little to no importance.

But to begin with, her stats weren't the reason for my visit, I came for her Unique class.

[Hearsay]

As the name suggests, it is a class designed to spread rumours.

Of course, it's not free and costs a particular price, similar to the Query class that Quinton possesses.

Other than her Unique Class, there was something else that was interesting.

Her titles! To be specific a particular title...

[The Daughter Of Fallen.]

"What assistance do you need, Master Lykus?

Before I could exaggerate, she interrupted my thoughts, imploring a question.

She doesn't stop there and continued:

"It sure is unusual for someone like Master Lykus to explore such a place. However, since Master Lykus has shown his presence, we will do our best to assist in any way possible."

The voice I heard was gender neutral. Of course, I was well aware that the one behind the opaque glass is a woman.

I do know the reason why.

"I came here in search of someone."

"Someone...? But we do not provide that kind of assistance. It seems like Master Lykus came to the wrong place."

"Oh! then what kind of assistance do you provide."

I asked in intrigue.

"We provide assistance related to loans to the people in need with a certain interest rate."

"Oh, you provide loans to the people in need? How commendable~."

"It's nothing. However, I thank Master Lykus for his kind wo-"

"Pbftt... Hahahaha~"

She was in between her thanking piece until she heard me burst into laughter.

"...Why are you laughing?" She asked in confusion.

"I laughed at how genuine your reaction was. Don't you know what sarcasm is? Do you really believe I couldn't see through your actual intentions?" I proclaimed.

"...Well, even if Master Lykus is aware of our actual intention, it doesn't change anything, what we are doing is legal. Now if you are satisfied with my answer, you may leave."

"Hmmm? Seems like you misunderstood my intention, I never said that I have a problem with what you are doing." I Paused for a bit and before continuing with a smile:

"But I was just concerned as this kind of work certainly doesn't suit... the daughter of Vikar— The Fallen. Now does it?"

Silence.

After I asserted my piece, silence prevailed in the room.

However, it didn't last long and after a few seconds,

Ashley said:

"Wha-what nonsense are yo-you ta-talking about, Master Ly-Lykus? I wo-won't take it lightly if you slender me."

For the first time, she lost her composure and her voice cracked.

"Oh, and what can you do~"

"I-I.."

No words were uttered out of her mouth.

"Isn't what I said the truth? Aren't you the only daughter of Vikar— The Fallen? Ashley Nakros?"

"Kill him!" She shouted.

'Well, this escalated quickly.' I thought before the next thing I saw was a knife, aimed right at my face.

However, there was something strange, I didn't have any fear. On the other hand, I was excited. And there was a smile on my face— An innocent smile that didn't fit the situation.

Tink!

A metal clash was heard.

"Arrrghhh!"

...Followed by a death-piercing cry.

—Clap! Clap!

...This was then followed by the sound of clapping, which can be heard in-between the cry of agony.

"Well done, My Maid~. Your master is happy with your performance." I announced with a bright smile.

"Tsk." That's the only thing I got as a response.

'So she realised. Well, she is quick-witted.'

I was perfectly fine, there was not even a scratch on my body, the sole reason for that is the white-haired woman who stood before me with a bloodied dagger in her hand.

"Arrrghhh!" The attacker continued to scream before his arms got chopped off from his shoulder.

Swish!

A gust of wind blew past me and after which the room turned silent.

The attacker was lying dead on the ground with his head split open.

I looked at the person responsible for that, she stood unscathed, with the same blood-coated dagger in her hand.

Showing a cool pose.

"Now that it's all over, let's come to business," I announced and continued:

"Do you really desire it that much?"

It was a vague question directed towards Ella.

'This is my best bet.'

This was really my best bet.

Hearing my voice, Ella turned back with her gaze sat on me.

After a few seconds of contemplation, she asked a question in return:

"For how long are you aware of this?"

'Bingo! This really was my best bet after all.'

I rejoiced internally.

"Let's see~, Hmmm." I acted as if I was contemplating her question but a moment later, I asked:

"Does it even matter? What you desire is something that I possess. And if you want me to fulfil your desire, all you need to do is to look after your master like a good maid."

"Do you really think I won't kill you and acquire it?"

"Says the one who saved me~."

"..."

Hearing my response she went in silence.

'Finally, I acquired a piece.'
