Seclusion (3) - 59

Chanceline Sacorathy, a sad character to say the least.

Well, she was an extra, so that type of fate had already been destined for her, but still, it was sad nonetheless.

She was the child of a marquess family that was responsible for defending the border between the country and the Demon Trench, and so she had started to learn how to fight at a young age.

At the mere age of 8, she had been sent deep into the valley, forced to do so to pass her family's initiation exam, in which an heir had to survive deep in the valley for at least 3 days, no matter if they were a boy or a girl.

And, well, stuff happened, and, although she was able to make it back alive, she had been paralyzed from the waist down, never destined to walk again.

So, she had been forced to stay at the border for the rest of her life, living in misery, as her berserk spirit was never let free ever again.

In the end, she had died when the original Lysander had started his invasion of the country from the Demonic Trench, after he had turned into a demon.

The one thing that I had found the most striking about this person, was that she had stood her ground until the very end, still trying to strike the original Lysander as he cut her body in half.

If she still had that same indomitable spirit this time around, them maybe...

Anyways, if I had guessed correctly, it seemed that, due to this engagement, she would be attending the Pantheon as soon as I returned, being a transfer student that came in, in the middle of the year.

She would definitely be bullied as soon as she arrived, as she would be perceived as weak, but I knew, the luck of those small time villains were obviously less than her's, who was an extra, so she would definitely be fine.

After all, her hands were working perfectly fine, and if I was able to work with Reese on something...

Yes, it would all work out in the end. All that was left would be to check if she could kill. According to personality tests back on Earth, she needed to be at least chaotic neutral.

"Lysander...?"

Snapping me out of my thoughts, I looked back at my mom, as she looked at me with a worried face, thinking that I had started to hate her or something for initiating an arranged marriage without my input in the matter.

"Don't worry, Mother, I'll happily follow your wishes." I said, whilst wearing a gentle smile on my face.

Seeing this, she also smiled happily, as her body relaxed from its tense state.

"Then please, have some tea." She said, waving her arm, making a set of tea and small cakes appear on the table in front of us.

Trying some of the fragrant tea, and then ingesting a little sweet treat afterwards, I carefully savored the tastes, feeling a slight happiness that could only come from sweets building up in my belly.

We spent the rest of our time together catching up, all the while eating these delicious treats whilst drinking hot tea to wash it all down.

...

I had been meditating for the past hour, until a voice suddenly sounded in my mind,

//Ugh... I'm sooooooooooo tired.// Groaned my sister, interrupting the peaceful atmosphere around me, ruining my mindful state of meditation.

//Stop complaining, all you had to do was greet a bunch of nobles.// I retorted, a little bit pissed that my cultivation time had been cut short.

//But I...//

//All you had to do was walk around and talk, you can't possibly have a good defense.//

//Sigh... You're right, but then, why do you sound so tired?//

It was true, I guess I did sound a little tired.

Looking at myself in a mirror, I could see that the black patches below my eyes had reformed, and that I had somewhat regressed back to what I had looked like at the Pantheon.

//Mother and I spent the entire night talking, now THAT was tiring.//

//Why? Mom is Mom.//

//You should know that her mental state is, as of right now, violently inclined.//

"..."

She spent a little time thinking, allowing me to also collect some thoughts together, as I sent information about my talk with Mother to Eve.

//I know... Did Dad make a big mistake?//

//I can't tell either, but it seems like, either way, one of them will end up in a bad place at the end of this whole fiasco.//

Yes, although I could say for sure that there would be some kind of confrontation, I honestly didn't know myself who the two who would end up in a bad place were.

Well, I could tell that one of the possibilities would definitely be my Mother, but the other position was, as of this moment, still open between my "dad" and his new wife.

Thinking about it for a little bit more, I thought it would be pretty fun watching them fight it out like cats and dogs.

//Really? You're somewhat happy about the situation?//

//Oh? I transmitted that? Well, it's not like you didn't guess that I would feel this way.//

//True... One question though, if worse comes to worse, which it will, I'm not that dumb, but, let's say that they start a full on war against each other right now, who would you support?//

//Isn't it obvious?//

//I want to hear it out loud, well, through out mental connection, just for much needed solid confirmation.//

//Then I'd support Mother, without a doubt.//

//I feel that way too, so I guess we're in agreement, right?//

//So, if worse comes to worse, you'll take care of "dad", and I'll take care of Mom and the Fourth Sister?//

//Yeah, let's split it like that.//

And with those final words, we had finished our preparations for an event that we knew for a fact would happen in the future.

So I, being the gentleman I was, decided that it was time for Fourth Sister to wake up, as the sun had well passed the point where it was peeking over the horizon.

Reaching my arm out, I prepared to shake her awake, but just as my hand was about to make contact with her skin, a sharp voice cut through my head and stopped me suddenly, frozen, in my tracks.

"Don't fucking touch me."

'Oh, yet another personality?'
