22 Chapter Twenty-Two

Chapter twenty-two:

'What kind of librarian is this he is more suited to be an legendary general!'

Getting frustrated that her attacks weren't landing on him, Meng mind turned from fighting to fleeing.

Even if he outed her to the entire world she could at least hide as someone else while she protected Feng Qi. This body wasn't her's in the first place her, giving up its identity meant nothing when it was compared to her life.

Meng faked an attack and slide past the librarian toward the couch. Her muscles screamed at the unnatural movements she was forcing upon it. As she thought, fighting wasn't an option, she didn't even know how much longer she could stay on her feet.

Grabbing a pillow from the couch she was originally sitting on, Meng threw it forcefully at the librarian's face before turning around and sprinting toward the door.

A hand grabbed the collar of her fleeing figure and threw her away from the door. She unsteadily got up and glared at the librarian. He wasn't trying to harm her when he attacked, however he wasn't willing to let her go. Is he playing a game with her!?

Meng's expression became ice cold when she realized the seriousness of the situation. She ran at the librarian again and made it seem like she was going toward his face. Feeling the mirage of a hand traveling to block her fist, she let out a vicious smile before changing directions mid-flight. Her leg came up for a round house kick right toward his balls.

When it comes to trying survive how could she possibly bother with not being shameless? Her eyes gleamed with wickedness as her leg got closer and closer however, at that moment the librarian released some of his aura, sending Meng flying away.

Yet, somehow, even without her attacking him, he coughed up blood.

'What a shameless person! How dare she try to make this master into a eunuch!' The librarian glared darkly at the girl flying in the air and didn't bother to cushion her fall.

If she wasn't such a precious gem, he would of definitely beat her to death by now. Walking up to the girl sprawled on the ground, he once again picked her up by her collar.

"What's your name girl?" He was in a situation at the moment that required him to stay away from cultivators as much as possible, which is why he didn't pay much attention to her at first. However, for such amazing talent he wouldn't mind sparing some annoyance to at least deal with the ones in this small kingdom. As long as the sects didn't find out he should be fine.

Meng violently pulled on his grip trying to get free, giving her the image of a wild tiger. The librarian's rolled his eyes before jerking her around a bit to get her attention.

"Stop trying to kill yourself and just tell me your name! This old man means you no harm." He yelled at her in exasperation. This girl was clearly a lunatic! Even the most bravest person wouldn't be as ruthless as she was too herself.

Meng's face was turning red from shortness of breathe after moving around so much. Normally she would of tried to negotiate with the librarian, but the feeling of being trapped made her heart freeze inside.

As a child, her family locked her up often, so that others wouldn't see the shame of their family and would leave her there for days. They gave her the smallest amount of food and water just to survive, but eleven years of her life were lived in darkness. Now faced with being trapped up again, she subconsciously turned insane from the feeling.

When the librarian noticed that she was about to pass out, he carefully put her on the couch. He assumed that she was scared witless because of when he attacked her with his aura and felt a bit guilty.

Meng breathed in deeply when she was finally released from the librarian's iron grasp and placed her hand on her chest to try to calm down her racing heart. 'Omo! This bastard almost killed me!'

She sent the librarian a glare full of a accusation as she angrily breathed. The librarian awkwardly coughed before looking away.

"What right do you have to blame me for you almost faninting? Humph, clearly you are the one who is wrong for using such a shameless move." The librarian retorted to her angry glare. They were both equally thick-skinned and neither one of them wanted to admit they were wrong.

"Anyway now that you got your way, it's about time you told me your name."

Meng fought the urge to roll her eyes at the ridiculousness of telling him her name. Even if he wasn't going to spread out the fact that she jumped over two levels of cultivation, he still just tried to kill her!

Glancing over his shoulder at the books that were begging to be read, Meng finally calmed down before coolly sending him a glance. "My name is Bai Yao Ling" She said casually with a straight face.

Her love for books made her keep a diplomatic stance.

The librarian didn't think much of it because he never left the library, how could he hear stories about the red demon brat?
