Northern Town

It's sunday,aside from sleeping and eating,there's nothing much to do for Lei. It's 2 pm,after she ate two packs of noodles at 11,she went back to sleep. in the middle of her deep slumber,her phone ring.

"who is it" she answered without looking at the caller's id. filled with annoyance,her voice was big and sturdy.

"is this Lilein?"

"how dare you wake me up"

she recognised it was Pat. the other line burst out laughing.

"you sounded like a man Lei oh my God"

Lei waited for him to finish his laugh before talking.

"what's with the call?"

Pat compose his self before speaking.

"my friend is struggling with his thesis. he's willing to pay Lei. i've sent you the file on your email"

her eyes lit up. at last,money coming through.she quickly open her account and hang up the other line. just like that,she was back to work.

it's 5 pm and her stomach rumbled. she didn't have any money to buy anything. she needs to at least finish the first part to be paid right away. she took a short break and turn the tv on. a news flash is currently on the screen.

"A 21 year old girl was found dead outside the Northern Town's central church this 4 pm. The girl's identity is still not confirmed because of her mutiliated body. Her face was skinned and her arms and legs were chopped. the police is suspecting that the girl who went missing 15 days ago named Mandy Lee and this girl was the same. investigation is still on going and it was confirmed that the killer was the same killer 3 months ago who brutally killed 4 girls with the same age and same way of method of murdering them. as of now, Mandy will be his 9th victim for 1 year if the dna match"

Northern Town. the place where she grew up. used to be a peaceful and silent land but now it's catching the attention of the whole country because of the series of murders of girls. same age,same way of dying. face were skinned,arms and legs were chopped. they all went missing for fifteen days and found on the same spot after. outside the Northern Town's Central Church was a garden. the garden where her memory with that boy took place. this news have been going around for 6 years yet,they couldn't find any traces of the killer. Name,age,appearance,height,basic information,yet they coudn't figure him out. they aren't even sure if it's a guy or a girl. it's like they are fighting with a ghost.

She turned the tv off. for some reason,she was scared of remembering the boy whom she met when she was 13.

"that's absurd"

she set aside all her thoughts in the back of her mind and instead,she focused on the edits. hunger will soon murder her if she won't finish a thing.
