1 Chapter One

BOOM!!! The footstep of the giant creature reverberated through the area. The unfortunate trees and ground shook firmly. It wasn't just the perimeter that shook, the hearts of all those watching also shook, as they witnessed the events unfold. No one expected to see such a monster, and definitely not in this way. The throats of everyone ran dry, and sweat globs began trickling down their faces and necks.

The giant monster was brown generally, from head to toe. It had green hair, which danced in the air. It had a humanoid appearance, and its thick muscles reiterated fear in all the beings present. Its giant eyes scanned through the area, containing a severe sinister glint.

BOOM!!!! Another footstep reverberated through the area, shaking it even further than it already had. And it didn't improve the condition of those watching. They knew what awaited them, definite demise. But still, the thought sent chills down their spines, especially when they looked at the creature in front of them.

After all, human beings knew that they were going to die one day or the other. Only accepting wasn't as easy as it might seem. The desire to live, to survive and to make it ..... these instincts began to kick in.

I looked on in pure horror. This monster was on a completely different level than I had ever seen or heard of. With the combined strength of all those present, we still couldn't hope to win. Infact, we'd be extremely lucky to survive..

The monster opened its palm, and pointed it in our direction. People began to retreat, not wanting to lose their dear lives. Life was too precious to be lost. It was only in a life and death situation that one could truly appreciate his life. The finger of the creature was still outstretched and in our direction. I knew running was pointless and I was out of ideas. Suddenly, a thick green bean formed from the finger and became larger and larger. It wouldn't take a detective to know the beam was going to obliterate the entire forest. That's right, we were in the middle of a secluded forest, isolated from civilization.

From the beginning of win, centuries and milliniums have passed and are still passing. And each has its own major crisis. Yet despite all these setbacks, the human race kept surviving. During the pleistocene era, humans survived. In the paleozoic era, humans still survived. Even after the Mesozoic era, humans kept living. And humans kept evolving, since evolution was imperative for survival. It was due to that constant evolution that humans were able to unlock their innate abilities. The life force, which had been locked away, has now been unveiled and people could harness extraordinary powers. Therefore in this world, half the masses across the globe, if not most of them are power users. Of course, awakening those abilities was one thing, and enhancing them was another . It wasn't just humans who evolved. A new species sprang up. They had extraordinary powers which even superseded that of humans. They were a menacing force. Unfortunately, they only wreaked havoc. It was quite hard to come across them; Their presence spelt doom. They were called.. Blood Beasts.

My name is James Waisze. I was a resident of Johnston city, one of the very advanced cities on the globe. I am a seventeen year old, living alone and attending a prestigious school called Marroy Academy. It specialises in training power-users in the understanding and usage of their abilities. It was by a severe stroke of luck that I'm even attending this school, although it's due to a past event. It was almost an unachievable dream for the masses to hope to attend this school, provided it was top-tier. My school only admitted the kids of the influential. It's totally ironic how an anonymous nobody like me attends such a high class school. There's a history behind it, but don't get me started on that one.

I wasn't the only commoner in the school, though. There are about forty five of us. Admitting us all into the school was a huge compromise, but given that past event, it did make sense in a way.

Anyways, I've felt kinda dumb to believe I was lucky for getting admitted into this school. The children of the rich didn't appreciate us commoners in their school. Infact, saying that is an understatement. They despised and looked down on us. The fact that they had to share their school with us commoners was entirely more than they could accept. It drove them off the edge completely. Infact, some of the very arrogant affluent kids appealed to have us commoners withdrawn from the school. When it failed, they tried to use underhanded techniques against us. The only leverage we have is that past event. It makes the affluent kids wary when dealing with us.

That still didn't stop them from trying underhanded things against us, and we have had to deal with that for as long as I could remember.

I walked across the road to the other side when the traffic light turned red. I then turned left and walked straight ahead till I got to an entrance, a very grand one for that matter. Adorned with beautiful decorations and flowers stood the majestic entrance of Marroy Academy. Other people were filing into the school, mostly shooting dirty glances my way. I only shook my head. They were so goddamn persistent. Nonetheless, I was used to them. With my chest out, I walked into the school, only to realise that the students had assembled.

'Huh?', I wondered, ' That's weird'

The gathering was in the auditorium. I was curious as to what was happening, so with hastened footsteps, I rushed there. On arrival, I noticed a chattering in the room. Everyone was equally as bewildered about the spontaneous assembly. A voice suddenly interrupted the mutterings. The chatter died down in effect.

It was the voice of the principal- principal McCarthy. He stood on an elevated podium in front of the gathering. we could see other teachers around. Observing the silence, the principal resumed speaking.

"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen,as well as students of this institution."

Without waiting for a response, he continued,

"As you students are aware, we've been training in the school for nearly a long time. Now wouldn't you agree?"

This made us even more perplexed than we already were. We wondered what he was getting at. While it was true that we had been training in the school for very long, we didn't see the point he was trying to make.

"Thus, the administration thought about it and decided that a real life training is just what you need."

This statement attracted diverse reactions; Happiness and enthusiasm by the belligerent ones, groaning from the unexcited ones, even indifference from the uninterested ones. Before you knew it, the room became noisy again. The principal hissed to restore silence.

"Anyways, in this vein, we shall have all our students to on a field training. Consider it excursion of some sort". He continued,

"In the training, you shall battle against dimension one to three beasts. You'll need it since you'd be battling stronger beasts in future".

That statement was followed by loud silence. The power users had been classified into levels. Or dimensions. Half the population ranged between dimensions one and three. Since our school was top-rank, a few students had broken through into dimension four, while the rest of us were in dimension three

All the teachers were on dimension four level, which is really ingenious and commendable. The principal was peak dimension four, almost into dimension five. The highest people have reached is dimension six, and such people were just monsters..

Anyways, from the principal's announcement, it was obvious we'd be facing blood beasts in whatever training it was. Suddenly, the teachers began to pass stones to us. I was confused when I received mine. I rubbed the stone in between my fingers. It was rough, hard and heavy for its small size.

"I believe you've received the stones. Those stones are called core stones. We'll be using them to transport and regulate you. You can rest assured that the teachers will keep the situation under control", said the principal.

After mentioning a few other things, he activated his ability and the core stones began to glow. Suddenly, all of us students vanished from the auditorium and appeared elsewhere.
