Running Away

"I'm screwed." Jiang Ai Yue uttered under her breath as she continued to press the start ignition button of her car. The engine just kept shutting down after a second and it was at this time she realized, she'll be stuck in the middle of nowhere with no phone signal and no other human being in sight.

She looked outside the window and saw the trees swaying with the wind. She silently cursed.

It was approaching winter and she had no other choice but to walk to the location listed on the invitation.

Sighing, she grabbed her coat and prayed that the mansion would be just a few minutes away from where her car broke down. She climbed down her car and wore the coat as she walked with her 3 inch heels.

'I can already hear my brothers scolding me.' She thought back when her second brother called her five hours ago. She was a minor who's yet to have her driver's license but she stole a car from the garage just so she could drive. Regret finally kicks in when she realized she's been walking for more than 15 minutes.

Jiang Ai Yue can already feel her feet falling apart while walking. She cursed once again and wondered why did the party have to be held at the top of the mountain. It was already hard enough to walk, she also had to climb at the same time.

A few minutes after, she heard the sound of engine. A CAR WAS APPROACHING! Thank god!

She happily whipped her head back to wait and stop the car so she could ask if she could hitch a ride. Finally, she saw a black Mercedes approaching and quickly held her arm out to signal for the car to stop.

The car finally stopped in front of her and she immediately crouched down to knock on the window. But before she could do it, the back door quickly opened revealing a handsome man who stared at her angrily like he was going to lash out anytime soon.

Jiang Ai Yue realized who he was and almost wanted to dash away from him. Choosing between dying from the roadside and from his this man's hands, she'd rather choose the former. Wanting to sprint away, her arm was quickly grabbed by the man and gripped her tightly.

"Jiang Ai Yue, don't you dare runaway!!"
