Meeting the father

Outside the VIP ward stood Gabi tapping away on her phone. A few minutes have already gone by and Luna has not yet called for her and all the waiting has already made her tired. Maybe a little nap won't hurt, she thought. As she was proceeding to close her eyes a light tap on her shoulder blasted her eyes open.

"Gabi, right? You're Luna's friend? Why are you out here and not inside?" Lorenzo asked.

"Well you see Lorenzo — can I call you that? Uhm Luna's father, Tito Arthur is inside and they have a lot of things to talk about and it's best we give them space for the time being," Gabi replied with a yawn.

By this time a normal person would wait and give the father-daughter pair some space to clear things out but Lorenzo wasn't gonna let Luna's food go cold and unpleasant to eat just because she was busy with her father. "What will I do with giving respect when Luna's already starving," Lorenzo grumbled knocking on the door and walking in.

Hearing knocks on the door and the door being opened, Luna expected Gabi to have been too impatient to be the one to enter but what shocked her was that Lorenzo was the one who appeared before her with a tray of delicious stake and veggies. Yum!

"Sorry to disturb you guys but the stake was about to go cold," Lorenzo explained.

He promptly set the tray in front of Luna and instructed her to eat. He certainly seemed like a husband taking care of his wife.

Arthur was surprised to see Lorenzo in the hospital room what more to see him taking care of his daughter. Arthur would naturally recognize Lorenzo, because he was the son of one of his old time partners in business.

Realizing his rudeness, Lorenzo immediately started to introduce himself to Luna's father but before he could even finish his sentence, Arthur interrupted him by saying that he already knew him.

"You're Carlo's son right? Have you truly forgotten about me? Your Tito Arth?" Arthur mused.

"Tito Arth? Is that really you?!" Lorenzo beamed.

As laughter filled the room, Luna was at a loss of words. 'They know each other? And better yet, this guy was Tito Carlo's son?' Her thoughts clouded her mind while still eating the delicious stake.

As the introduction was over, Arthur and Lorenzo was caught up in a conversation which was interrupted by a knock on the door. Gabi and a doctor walked in which caught everyone's attention.

"I see you are well Miss Luna. We have ran some tests and I am here to inform you that you are all set to be released. I suggest to take care of yourself more to prevent another fainting accident. Regular sleep and meals are also essential.

After the doctor left, Arthur asked Lorenzo the question he has been thinking of from the moment Lorenzo stepped in the hospital room. "Son, may I ask what is your reason on being here with my daughter?" Arthur asked.

"We were in the middle of a meeting Dad and then I passed out. Lorenzo here is just being a gentleman," Luna answered her father.

"Well actually Sir, I am courting your daughter," Lorenzo butted in.

If eyes could kill, Lorenzo would be six feet under right this moment with Luna's staring him down with daggers.

"Is that true Sweetpie? Well that would be excellent!" Arthur laughed. Which shocked Luna. 'Dad is happy?! This is crazy!' she thought.

"You my son have answered all my problems! I give you my blessing to court my daughter but don't you ever make her cry you understand?!" Arthur warned Lorenzo as Luna and Gabi were dumb struck.

Arthur then bid his good byes and left with Gabi in tow. The newly blessed soon-to-be couple seemed to be in two different words. As Lorenzo was in the land of rainbows and bliss, Luna was in the land of fury and rage. "What an odd couple to-be," Arthur thought as he walked out the room.

As silence be fell the room, Luna was the first to speak.

"What were you thinking saying you're courting me! I know you're friends with my father but you had to right to lie to him like that!" Luna huffed.

"Oh honey, why are you so mad? I just gave Tito Arth a heads up so he won't be too surprised when you become my wife," Lorenzo smirked irritating Luna more.

"You jerk! And what made you think I would ever agree to your ridiculous idea!? Huh?" Luna was really beginning to hate the guy in front of her. She really wanted to wipe his smirk off his devilishly gorgeous face by smacking it to the wall. But Lorenzo would have liked it more if she would smack her lips to his smirk.

"Your father gave us his blessing! Besides, you're single, I'm single and I like you," Lorenzo may be a jerk but he is bloody h*ll good with words Luna admitted to herself.

"But why?" Luna snapped.

"What do you mean why?" Lorenzo remarked.

"Why do you like me? We've just met!" Luna was at the verge of begging for answers yet Lorenzo seemed to be as calm as a cucumber.

"Because the heart wants what it wants," he replied.

Which was left on Luna's mind all thru the car ride back to her place.

It has already been a day yet Luna still cannot understand Lorenzo's sentence. "The heart wants what it wants," she repeated.

"What does that mean?" she said aloud. She has been stuck on understanding it for hours that she could not concentrate on the paper work she was supposed to be reviewing. Then suddenly an idea hit her. 'Who more to ask than the 'love expert' Gabi!' Luna rushed to grab her phone to seek the help of her big mouthed friend who most likely had the answer.

After a few rings, the call was immediately answered by Gabi with a "Took you long enough to call me," greeting.

"Gabi, what does the sentence 'the heart wants what it wants mean?" Luna directly asked.

"Where did you get that sentence from that you couldn't understand it? Was it from Lover-boy Lorenzo? (**insert wink*wink) My girl has finally gotten the man she deserves!" Gabi exclaimed.

"Yes it was from him so answer the damn question!" Luna hissed.

"It just means he likes you and he is acting on his feeling on you," Gabi answered.

"So Lorenzo has feelings for me that's why he wants me to be his wife?" Luna muttered before ending the call with Gabi.

As she let the information sink in, Luna was contemplating on either to call Lorenzo but afterwards decided against it. But one thing was for sure and it was that she already had an answer to his proposal.
