Chapter 39 Possess a phone

Tension grew in the cold conference room as everyone became quiet casting their eyes down in fear. There was an eerie silence and the only sound heard was the faint noise made by the cars that passed by. Jin Liwei sat looking at the workers scanning each and everyone to see whether he could find the traitor and he asked," I repeat for the second and last time, who sold our latest designs to our competitors?" Li Fei peeked at Jin Liwei who didn't appear any less than a merciless aristocratic ruler waiting to punish his subjects.

Most workers felt their hearts shudder when they heard the cold voice from their Boss. When he got no response, he said," Okay. I'm giving everyone three days to find the culprit. Failure, you all know the consequences. Meeting dismissed."

With that, everyone left the conference room hurriedly in panic. Wang Mel remained behind and asked," What are we doing next CEO?" "I'm suspecting someone. Keep your eyes on the girl who was sitting next to the project manager," he said and Wang Mel nodded.

The moment they left the conference room, Li Fei walked looking for the washrooms. She wondered if that's how things operated here. If that was the case, she doubted she would be able to last working here. Mr Jin Liwei was so cold and strict! But she couldn't blame his temper because the project appeared to be so important.

Going to the washroom, she stood in front of the mirror and wondered if she was also included in the three days ultimatum. She bent to turn on the faucet so as to splash some water in her face when she heard someone speaking inside the toilet. But that wasn't what caught her attention, she heard her mentioning Jin Liwei's name and she was tempted to eavesdrop on the conversation.

Tiptoeing, she placed her ear next to the door and heard," Yes, he's suspecting that there's a traitor here. I don't want to go to jail." *silence*

"Of course I want to marry you but I'm afraid he will kill me once he finds out. He's so cold and merciless." *silence* "Okay. I will continue spying for you because I love you but be quick with whatever you're doing. I don't want to be exposed to danger." When she heard her hang up, Li Fei left hurriedly and went to the sink to turn on the faucet.

The girl came out and on seeing her she asked," How long have you been there?" Turning, Li Fei asked," Huh? I've just come, why?" "Nothing. Excuse me," she left.

Li Fei didn't get the opportunity to look at her identity card to get her name but she was able to see her face and dress code. She wondered whom she should tell. What if the traitor wasn't one person and she ends up telling the other one.

Hurriedly, she left the washroom and looked for Wang Mel. At least she would trust him.

After long, she caught sight of him coming from the elevator and she quickly approached him. "I have something important to tell you, Mr Wang Mel," she told him. "What could that be, Ms Li?"

"It's about the issue addressed in the meeting.

I found a lead," she said and Wang Mel instructed her to follow him. When she saw him walk towards the CEO'S office, she internally scolded herself. Of course he had to tell him. She didn't want to see him again today considering his reaction in the conference room. She took a deep breath before entering his office. She found him looking outside the glass wall with his back facing them. "Master Jin, Ms Li has some information to rely to you," said Wang Mel and she internally rolled her eyes. She didn't want to speak to His Boss, but him.

Turning around, he walked to take his seat and looked at them," Yes?" Wang Mel looked at her urging her to speak and she said," I was in the washroom when I found someone on phone. I didn't mean to eavesdrop but I heard her mention the CEO'S name and I thought that it could be important. She was speaking to the person she works for." "The girl in blue?" he asked and Li Fei's eyes widened in surprise on how he found out. Did he already know? When she nodded, he said, "Tell me what she said." She told him everything she heard leaving nothing.

After, Jin Liwei glanced at Wang Mel who understood what he meant by that and he excused himself out of the office. Li Fei excused herself to leave too when he said," Wait. I'm a fair man. Tell me, how I can reward you. Anything." "I don't want anything Mr Jin Liwei. I did this for my fellow workers and the company at large," she politely declined. "I insist. Think of anything you like and I will give it to you," he said. Thinking hard about it, she said," Allow me possess a phone."

"That is done. You can leave," he said and she excused herself leaving the office.

Away from that, Liling made her way towards the Jing Conglomerate. Directed towards the CEO'S office, she knocked before opening the door and found no one there. She thought that he might have left the office and she decided to take a seat. She removed her documents from the envelope and looked at them wondering if they matched the standard after all, she had been taught in prison. Hearing footsteps, she looked in the direction and she saw Jing Yue coming out from what seemed like a private lounge but his shirt was unbuttoned. She glanced at the sexy abs and she wondered how he was able to maintain his body flawless. She watched him slowly button up his shirt his eyes fixated on her. When he was done, he smirked and walked towards the office.
