18 Chapter 18 The handsome business tycoon

The next morning, Caihong came inside the room and his eyes fell on Li Fei's bed who was still sleeping. Before leaving the prison grounds last night, he visited the place where prisoners' data is stored and on looking through it, he got to know why she was here. With the prison warden being his uncle, he was easily permitted to check through the files. It was also easy to find her information amongst the many because she had just come in this place. He now understood why she looked so terrified and insecure. She had wronged Jin Liwei the most influential man in China, if not Asia at large.

He walked to stand near her bed and looked at her as she was sleeping on her stomach. Her lips were slightly parted as she softly breathed in and out. He couldn't believe that she was the same arrogant girl he had seen yesterday on social media. "Doctor Caihong, I didn't expect you to come today," he was startled by one of his nurses and he turned to say," Yes but I wasn't busy today so I decided to pass by. How is she?" He asked referring to Li Fei. "She is fine. I changed her drip," she answered. He nodded and glanced at her one more time before going to his office. Sitting down, his hands made way to his hair and he disorganized it. He wondered why he had failed to get her out of his mind. He had even gone as far as coming today so as to catch a glimpse of her yet he wasn't scheduled to be here. He opened his laptop and decided to do some productive work.

Li Fei woke up and her eyes fell on the wall clock which showed that it was a half past ten in the morning. Her eyes widened in surprise. She couldn't believe that she had woken up this late. It had been so long since she last had a peaceful sleep. She sat up clutching the bed sheet on her chest and the nurse came asking if she was okay. After eating her breakfast, she took her medicine then the nurse cleaned and dressed her wound and she asked for her help in putting on her blouse. After, she asked if she could leave and the nurse said that she had to inform the doctor first. "He has said that you should come to his office," she told her as she showed her the way. On entering, she found him concentrating on his laptop and she cleared her throat to gain his attention. "How was your sleep?" he asked as soon as he saw her. "It was good. I would like to take my leave now doctor. Thanks for everything," she said. "It's my job you shouldn't thank me. I expect to see you here in the evening such that we reapply medicine on your wound. Also, try not to wet the wound," he said and she nodded before turning to leave. She took a few steps and then paused. She decided to be brave and ask for his phone. This was the only opportunity she had. Turning to look at him, she said," Uhm...I would like to ask for a favor from you doctor if you don't mind." "You can ask anything," he replied almost immediately.

" Could you - " "Doctor! We have gotten prisoners in critical condition," one of his nurses came rushing inside and he immediately stood up then looked at Li Fei and said," Wait here. I will be right back." When he left, she also decided to leave after all she was coming back in the evening.

Moving out of the health care, she took time to look at the building since she was conscious this time. It appeared totally out of the prison grounds. Her heart ached when she noticed that she was going back to the hell inside.

She went straight to her cell room and on reaching, she found only Liling in there. "How are you feeling?" Liling asked as soon as she saw her.

"Pain but I will be fine," she said and Liling nodded before saying," You were in a critical condition when I found you in the laundry room. Tell me what happened exactly." Li Fei narrated the whole incident as she kept listening. Liling got off her bed and came sitting on hers, surprising her. "I'm sorry for what happened. Listen, I know that I was rude to you in the beginning and I'm sorry for that. Let's be friends Li Fei," she said and Li Fei was more surprised. "Really?" she couldn't believe it. "Yes," she confirmed. After seeing how lonely Li Fei was, Liling decided to be friends with her since she was lonely too.

A while later, Liling suggested that they go to the entertainment room since Li Fei had never been there. On reaching, she noticed that it was a very big room similar to a theater.

On taking their seats, her eyes scanned the entire place until they landed on the group that had burnt her who were looking right at her. They smirked and she quickly removed her eyes then looked at the television which was showcasing a soap opera.

They left the entertainment room at midday and went to the dinning room for lunch. Li Fei noticed how their cell mates were glaring at the both of them. After lunch, they went back to their cell when Liling asked," How did you end up here?" "I knocked down a pregnant woman. She lost her life and the baby as well," she said almost in a whisper. "That's so bad. How did her people react? Husband, family?" "They probably hate me. I saw her parents at my trial but of course they looked at me with distaste and I understand. I heard that her husband is Jin Liwei," she said. "I understand but wait, is it the Jin Liwei I know? The handsome business tycoon?" asked Liling. "I think so. He lives in Shanghai." "He's probably the one. Now I understand," she said as if in realisation. "Understand what?" Li Fei became confused.
