5 Living Another Chance(2)

"Lillia-!" I silenced my maid, raising my fingers- warning her to stay quiet. Lillia looked like she was about to bicker with that woman sneering at me angrily.

"Sorry, but this place isn't for servants to enter through," the woman said casually, inspecting my clothing.

I rolled my eyes. Is this Karma? I clearly remember myself having the same behavior towards Cecil. That time, her knight and shining armor dismissed me. Too bad, I have to be Lillia's Knight here. I can't even hold a sword properly.

"M-miss!" Lillia said confused at my orders. Lillia then snarled at the woman who sneered at us.

"What? You want to mess with me- the daughter of Earl Timpone?" she said brushing her hands around her hair.

An Earl? Who does she think she was? The Queen?

"Urgh!" Lillia said as she moved her hands, moving them up and down. She seemed as if she was about to burst. But she continued to heed my orders.

This girl... she was so loyal to me in the end. How tragic that she died in my hands... I scolded myself angrily for betraying Lillia in the future.

How blind was I?

"Lillia; there is no point coming in this poorly rated store. Let's go somewhere else," I tell Lillia as I brush my finger against my nursery maid's soft lips and turn around to leave. Just before I do- the woman grabs me by my hand and snarls at me:

"Poorly rated store! You filthy commoner! You can't even own a single dress in here- and you call it poor! Apologize!"

This really must be Karma in its own form. Now I realize how badly I had mistreated poor Cecil in my past. I was really mistreating the wrong person. It was the man I loved all along that I should have been mistreating!

"Look, lady- I don't want to quarrel a pointless argument," I say as I shake off my hands from her tight grip. But the woman looked like she wanted to kill me right there.

"THEIF! HOW DARE YOU!" she yelled at me. Soon the store authorities followed the voice. The manager came right after hearing the word Theif so loudly.

Holy shit... who was she thinking she was... the Queen?

"How dare you insult my miss!" Lillia snapped back angrily. I raised my finger and silence Lillia. I gave her a look that said, 'don't expose my true identity. keep it silent'

"Miss! What happened!" The store manager came to comfort the woman, the daughter of the Earl.

"Those two! Were planning on stealing!" The woman said pointing at me and Lillia. I gritted my teeth. Point those hands at Lillia and your life is over.

I pull down and hold back my anger. I refrain everything... to my weak point.

Be strong... I urged myself. But deep inside, I felt the urge to punch this dumb woman.

The store manager glared at us both then and barked right at me, "HOW DARE YOU! You even dare to touch these expensive items!"

Expensive? I roll my eyes inwardly.

I look at the price. Five hundred silver coins? Seriously? With me- I have one hundred gold coins. This dress wasn't even worth a single Penny!

(1 gold coin- 100 silver)

"We didn't come into steal! This woman stole what we wanted from us!" Lillia said pointing at the daughter of Earl Timpone.

The woman shrieked when she heard Lillia: "How dare you curse me! You filthy commoners! I will tell my father to haunt you down to your blood! I am Stephanie von Timpone! Remember that!"

B*tch.

The store manager pulled Stephanie way from us, but she glared us both down. Her eyes looked as if she wanted to crumble us into a ball and throw us in the trash.

No doubt. I had seen that look in that man's face so many times. This lady's glare was couldn't be even compared to his.

"Please thieves, leave this shop! Or else I will call the guards!" she said pointing at the door.

B*tch no. 2. Shut up.

"Thieves? You chase your own customers out? How bad is the rating quality in the shop?" I say. I was already used to these insults being thrown at me. The same type of insult people used to give me when they learned that my mother was a commoner and a dancer.

But I had outgrown that.

"Customers? Quality? Please... look at the prices of these dresses, they are made of fine quality silk. They are for noble people only. You won't find them anywhere else but here. Who are you to talk?"

"Tragic, how about I buy the entire store?" I say crossing my hands. The store lady manager looked at me as if there was a second homecoming of Jesus.

"OUT! OUT!" she yelled at me.

I rolled my eyes and shrugged. Then I grabbed Lillia's hand and left the store. Before she could fully chase me out.

"Duke Crest will surely bankrupt this store, when he realizes his daughter has been humiliated by ants." I make myself loud and clear.

The store was filled in the silence. I turn back to see baffled look on their faces. "Oh, don't believe me?" I smirk.

I throw out ten gold coins on the floor and say: "Bring me the best dresses you have, and chase out the filthy Earl's daughter for me, won't you?"

The store manager quickly picks up the gold coins to find it real.

"WAIT! MISS! I AM VERY SORRY! I AM WRONG!" the store manager came rushing into the street hugging into my legs and pleading.

"What?" I say in a hushed manner trying to kick this woman out of my clutches. Everyone outside the streets was staring at me. I could feel the adrenaline through my cheeks.

"Please! I did not mean to harm you! Please don't bankrupt this place! This is how I feed my children!" she pleaded.

I crinkled my nose. I was disgusted by watching people beg at me. This reminded me of how I begged at that man to let me off.

Scars. Hate. Disgust. Pain. Betrayal.

I gritted my teeth as I angrily said: "Oi, woman! You can stop begging, and give me your best gowns you have in the shop."

The store manager quickly jumped up and kissed my boots and said, "You are a goddess! You are a goddess! I promise to never wrong you!"

"Shh... geez" I cry as I slap my hand onto my face. People started pointing and rumoring right after they saw this scene. Lillia sighed loudly but smiled sweetly.

I spare a glance at the shocked Stephanie, who was completely out of words.

That B*tch... oh well. The past is the past. Karma is Karma.

"Oi, you!" I say pointing at Stephanie. She quickly ran over to me and kneeled down at my boots and cried:

"Please! I didn't mean to offend you, My lady!"

"You can stop too," I say as I sigh loudly and rub my forehead. She also looked like she was forgiven by the heavens. "But-"

Stephanie and the Store Lady looked at me in surprise when I said that word.

"You have to promise me that you never mistreat anyone, ever again, by the way, they are wearing their clothes. Next time, I cannot guarantee if they will let this go," I say. Both of them looked at me and nodded in unison.

"Yes, mam!"

When did they practice this?

"Also, give me back the dress that you wanted to take away from me," I say glaring at Stephanie. Stephanie dared not to do anything and quickly handed it over.

"Mam! You are the truly deserving of this dress!"

"It's not for me, but for her," I say pointing at Lillia. Lillia looked shocked when I pointed her out. Soon Stephanie and the store lady quickly grasped Lillia's boot and asked for her forgiveness.

Lillia seemed to surprise for anyone to have to bow and kneel at her foot. She sighed and also let them off.

"Miss! We will never forget how the goddess forgave us! We shall remember and welcome everyone at the store!" they both chimed in unison at me.

Ah... how did it get to this? Oh yeah... money and power.

"And you," I say pointing at the store manager. "I want the order of ten dresses ready by the next day!" I say as I grab Lillia and leave.

"All in your command!"
