1 Misery[Chapter 1]

[In this modern age the light have enveloped all corners of the world. however there are places where darkness still hides, where only the tiniest bit of light can reach. In one of these places where darkness rules but light intrudes, an alley, a fight is in the process. It's often said that the world is unfair, this fight was also one that was unfair.]

[A fight between 18 year old Gou Kuro and a few of his classmates, displeased with him. they're displeased with him not because he did anything wrong but because his suffering brings joys to their otherwise miserable lives. Those fighting him include chu-wong jo, sung Kang, Won Jin and a few other, all within the ages of 17-19 they number 7 in total.]

[Yes I know what you're thinking, "this sounds like everything else I've read", there's one key difference... no I'm not telling you, just read and find out.]

[time ticked on by but the damage kept coming. left, right, up, behind, in front, on the side. although Kuro manages to get a few hits in, one person can't win against seven so easily. time just keeps passing and passing]

Kang: huff huff let's go.

[snickering and laughing on their way back, some with only as much as scratches. their superiority towards Kuro giving them a rush that they loved]

Kuro: ugh, bastards got me in the ribs hard

[while touching his bruised side and lifting himself up from the ground]

Kuro: ack

[the world is ruled by power, whether that be physical power or power over information or even psychological power but power nonetheless. many people grow up not having or knowing about power because of circumstance for life. everybody questions the fairness of it but the truth is it will never be fair. but it is balanced. sometimes.]

[heading back home he staggers in pain and opens the front door of a broken and worn down abandoned house. waiting for him is a 5'6 14 year old boy with orange hair and emerald green eyes and an orange hoodie with a red question mark ❓ in the middle of the back. but a boy smarter than his age and much smarter than most people would think.]

Nova: how was school K

Kuro: no different than yesterday, no better than tomorrow. you cooking?

Nova: yeah some eggs and sausage.

[seemingly talking to the audience] no not like that you dirty assess.

Kuro: what?

Nova: nothing, you want some?

Kuro: always

[the smoke starts to fill the air as the eggs are put in the frying pan to cook]

[serving the food they both sit in front of a small table]

[picking up a fork and tasting the food]

Kuro: wow. your cooking's improving

Nova: I wish

Kuro: no I mean it

[Nova's face exposes a soft smile at the compliment]

Kuro: I got 20 minutes before I have to go to work, don't wait up I'll be back before you go to school. I'll shower and head out. if you have homework do it then head to bed.

Nova: got it

[after taking a shower Kuro puts on his clothes then puts on his favorite hoodie, jet black with a large hood with a silver star figure that is sharp on the top and smaller but as sharp figure on the bottom and heads out the door to his job at a supermarket]

[time ticks as the night changes colors twice, from dark blue to black and from black to light blue and the start of a shift turns to the end of one]

[Kuro returns home and wakes up Nova]

Kuro: wake up, time to go to school

Nova: [grunting] a few more minutes

Kuro: no no come on. your gonna be late if not

Nova: mmm I'm up

Kuro: go take a shower and brush your teeth

[nova wakes up and scratches his side and goes to take a bathroom sadly there isn't enough water to use the shower and the sink to often.]

Kuro: come here

[Kuro hugs Nova]

Nova: what was that for?

Kuro:we're family

[out of nowhere two portals appear behind each of them, the one behind Nova was golden yellow and the one behind Kuro was crimson blood red.]

[suddenly as fast as the portals appeared one hand appeared from each portal, from the golden yellow one a bright human like hand appeared with engravings on the hand, from the blood red one a strong arm with claws and scales and a red and black mixed color.]

[the hand from the yellow portal grabbed Nova and the hand from the yellow portal grabbed Kuro and pulled the both of them before they were ever able to notice or say a word.]
