4 Chapter 4

Though nervous at first, Wren actually had enjoyed the ride. It felt nice to hug him, and she enjoys the rush of sifting wind around her and the steady hum of the motorcycle. The trip was shot, though she had almost wished it went on for long. Evan carefully parked the automobile, kicking the kickstand out and turning the engine off. He moved off in one swift motion before turning back to Wren and picking her up, carefully setting her down next to him.

"So, what did you think?" he asked curiously, the look on his face reminded Wren of a proud dog. She found this look particularly adorable.

"I actually enjoyed it. That was fun" Wren beamed as she removed her helmet and handed it to the tall man, who smiled brightly at her. Evan unlocked a side compartment of the motorcycle and pulled out a folded up blanket.

"I'm glad you liked it," Evan said happily, "How about we try to do some star gazing?" he asked, beginning to lead her from the parking lot further into the park. Soon he found a spot he deemed usable and laid out the blanket. Wren smiled as she watched him, she wished Andrew was that considerate of her. A tinge of pain went through her heart at the thought; she wanted to be with someone who loved her.

The pair settled down on the blanket, Evan wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close. He made no move to do anything else, just held her gently and gazed up at the stars. Wren watched his face, his expressions and reactions fascinated her. It seemed like each time she had figured him out, he surprised her again.

"You know, on the way here, I was trying to think of where I had heard your name. You're the princess, aren't you? You have a wedding coming up soon," Evan said, there was no harshness in his voice nor any anger. He seemed slightly disappointed but was also very respectful of her.

"I had been hoping you wouldn't figure it out," Wren said honestly, she enjoyed how she felt in his arms. His body was so warm, he made her feel safe. "I'm getting married in a week," she frowned, turning her gaze up to the sky. She could hardly see any, but the moon stood out clear as day against the dark sky.

"Why go on a date with me then?" Evan asked curiously; he had initially intended to have a sexual encounter with the woman. However, now that she was in his arms, all he wanted to do was hold her.

Wren sighed softly, "I am not happy with the man chosen for me. He… He scares me. I fear that he will whisk me off to England and decide my life for me." she sounded saddened by this. "Immortality is nice and all until you're forced to spend eternity stuck in a house with a man you dislike…"

"I'm sorry to hear that, Wren. I wish I could take you away" Evan said, looking over and staring at her beautiful face. He squeezed her to him gently, he felt for the poor girl.

"I agreed to this date because I…" she sighed once more, "I just wanted to spend one night how I wanted to. I wanted to know what it was like to go on an actual date and maybe even have my first kiss with a man I choose." Wren couldn't believe she was admitting to this, she didn't want to scare the kind man away.

"You've never been kissed?" Evan asked curiously, sitting up and looking down at her. Confused, Wren sat up too.

"No, I've never really done much of anything," Wren said embarrassedly. She was worried this inexperience would make him uncomfortable.

"Well, how about I change that" Evan offered, he gently cupped her cheek and led her in closer to him. He paused, giving her a chance to pull away if she wanted, but she stayed still. His touch with soft and caring, everything about him made Wren feel safe. She leaned slightly into his touch as he drew her closer and closed her eyes. While gently clutching the blanket they sat on, Wren felt the soft touch of his lips on hers. Every touch from him was gentle and sweet like he was handling something delicate. Evan pulled her in even closer, his free hand wrapping around her waist and pulling her closer against his toned body. His lips moved against hers in a way that made her melt, she followed his lead and deepened the kiss.

The pair stayed like that for a while, enjoying the tenderness of each other's touch and the sweet kisses they shared. However, soon, they broke apart. Wren slowly pulled back, her face feeling hot as she looked at the man who just stole her first kiss. Ean smiled charmingly back at her; everything about him was enticing to her.

"What did you think of your first kiss?" Evan asked, his tone was not a boastful one. His hand moved to her, tenderly holding and caressing her smaller hand as he watched for her reaction. He could tell she was flustered, despite the lack of a flushed face.

"It was perfect," Wren said, the heat she felt was matched on his face with a light pink blush on his cheek. She couldn't get enough of him.

Evan gently rubbed her hand, bringing it up to his face and kissing it lightly, "I'm glad you enjoyed it." He smiled, gently kissing her palm, which caused the woman to let out a soft giggle.

"Why are you so gentle with me?" Wren asked curiously, a giant smile on her face as Evan pulled her closer to him.

"I'm not a beast, my dear." Evan smiled, tenderly rubbing her back, "A lady should only be with a gentleman." He chuckled softly, resting his head on her shoulder and enjoying her sweet scent while he held her close. Wren smiled, one of her hands moved up to gently play with his hair, earning her a soft but happy groan from Evan.

"I hate to say it, but it's getting late." Wren sighed, gently stroking his hair as he held her tightly, "If they find that I'm gone, it won't be good. I need to go home" she frowned, closing her eyes to savor the moment.

"I understand, but I want to see you again," Evan sighed softly against her smooth neck. "How about tomorrow, we can go out again," he suggested, not ready to let the woman go. He didn't know what had come over him so suddenly, he had never met someone like her. The same could be said for Wren, she had never known such a caring person nor someone who wanted her company like this.

"I…" Wren paused, considering her options carefully. She couldn't even imagine what punishment she would get if she were caught but it all seemed worth it to spend her last few days in the city with someone who seemed interested in her. "Alright. I'll meet you at midnight again. Just text me where to meet you," she offered, pulling away slightly to hand him her phone. Evan grumbled and squeezed her to him before letting go, adding his number into his phone and sending a text from it so they could keep in touch.

"I'll take you home, I know where to go," He offered, handing her back her phone as he got to his feet. He took her hand and helped her up before folding up the blanket.

"I don't know, the motorcycle will probably get their attention…" Wren sighed softly, following him back to the bike.

"Who said we'd take the motorcycle" Evan smirked. Before her eyes, his body began to shift, awkwardly at first before soon, a tall black wolf stood in front of her. He was massive, nearly looking her into the eyes. The wolf knelt down, waiting for her to climb on, which she did. His fur was soft and thick, it felt good on her skin. Wren wrapped her arms around his broad neck; once he deemed her secure, Evan stood up and dashed off. He ran through the city swiftly, going through alleyways and dashing across roads.

Soon stopping at the side of the gate of the large manor, he knelt down once more and let the woman off. Wren smiled and gently pet his head as his tail wagged.

"Goodnight, Evan, I'll see you tomorrow" Wren smiled and gently kissed his head. Evan licked her cheek, pouting as he trotted away. Once he was halfway down the street, he paused and looked back at her before disappearing into the night.

Wren sighed, looking up at the large gate. She truly hated this house. After the slight struggle of climbing back into her room, Wren changed and laid down in bed. Quickly falling asleep and dreaming of the perfect date and sweet man she had met.
