8 Against Their Wills
All candidates are gathered in the facility together with respective Generals. Some of them are confused on the current situation they're in. All 6 are confined on different rooms and are bound to meet each other very soon. At the meeting room, all generals together with Dr. Brischt and Dr. Spencer tackled about the how to set out the details of the matter without freaking them out. For all they know, most of them are already agitated by the confinement without knowing the sole reason for it. They've been kept locked up for days without a single word from the generals. Even the doctors who extracted blood samples from them won't say a thing even if they ended up being hurt.
"Generals, if we delay this we might all end up being hated. I won't risk proceeding with the project with a confused mind of a specimen." Dr. Brischt firmly speaks out his mind.
"Nonetheless, if the mutation succeeded, in their current state of mind they may end up killing us due to confusion and lack of acceptance. A calm mind would be beneficial to the success of this project." Seconded by Dr. Spencer.
"I know all your concerns Dr. Brischt and Dr. Spencer. We must see to it thay all of them accept their fates. They will eventually sink it to their minds that this project will help them and our country." General Nushka glances at General Buhaden.
"Do you have any suggestions on the matter General Cloutier?" General Yang asked in a serious tone but the latter kept silent.
A few hours of arguments, they all come up of one plan. They will hand out all information about the project to the candidates and from the monitor they will see their reactions. The files will also include their information as candidates and their respective generals as well. By then the generals will cope up with another solution to calm them down and let them accept the situation willingly of by force. They will extent to brainwashing if they have to. That's how desperate the generals are to start the project.
Moment later, each candidates received an enevelope with documents inside of it. Both Princess Sofie and Tyler have a bit of information about the project so the files serves as an extended knowledge about it. As for the others, upon receiving the files they all bursted into different emotions.
Ara from India became so emotional and cried all everything she had known right away. She felt broken for this is not what the General promised her. But it's also stated on the documents that General Buhaden already took the three children under his custody and enrolled them all in a well-known school in India. She felt relieved in that matter yet feared for her own well being.
Diego punches the wall repeatedly out of anger. He clenched his bloody fist and shed some tears. For the sake of his father he will do anything, that's what his thinking as of the moment to ease the shock he felt upon knowing the truth why General Cloutier brought him here in the first place.
Li Ying kept silent on the corner, grasping every detail on the documents. Good for Dragon Claw he can openly do what he wanted, as for her, she doesn't even know how to react. She is shock and afraid yet she doesn't even know how to deal with her emotions. She was too broken before, what more if you're suddenly forced to undergo the whole vampire thing. General Yang tries to hide away his expression not to let anyone know about his affection towards Li Ying. General Cloutier already notices it and just kept silent.
Slacovich on the other hand began to curse. He angrily turns over the tables and chairs, destroying everything he can see and grab. He was furious upon knowing about the project. This was all a ser up for him. He won't allow anyone even a general to crush his life for the sake of science. He is a great pain for General Nushka. Knowing Slacovich's background as an assassin, he won't back down easily.
Princess Sofie finds it more exciting to know everything about the project. She's even more eager than before to start it. She maybe nervous about the whole process but she's also overwhelmed by the nearing power she will obtain. General Prius has not even a tiny problem on his candidate. Princess Sofie would be a fine specimen with her current mind setting.
Tyler Johanssen's face shed a light of hope. Everyone can see his determination to push through the while procedures just by looking at his face on the monitor. His father, General Johanssen also lights a spark of hope in his heart that everything will go well. His son's life will be longer than his and he will die happily knowing his son will be well.
The generals leave the candidates as it is to give them time to breath everything in. At some point, the generals also reserved the brain-washing procedures in case the others won't cooperate.
"Generals, may suggest something?" Dr. Spencer breaks the silence.
"What is it Dr. Spencer?" General Johanssen ask without even looking at her.
"I would like to suggest putting all six in the same room. They may resort to violence if we also isolate their emotions. Having the positive outlook of Princess Sofie and Tyler's hope for the project, they might touch the others emotions and start looking at the project in a positive way. What can you say generals?"
"That's something we can try. Let's give them time to know each others arguments about the project. This may help." General Nushka agreed immediately on Dr. Spencer's suggestion.
"Well then, open the doors and lure them all to the main hall." General Johanssen ordered.
All six began to move out of their rooms and followed every opened doors. With different say on the project, no one knows what this meeting will conclude. The candidates meet in the main hall, there are food and drinks. At first they were all silent and just observing one another. Until Princess Sofie's social skills breaks the silence.
"Hi guys, I think we are all here for the same purpose. I am very excited to start the whole thing." Princess Sofie says in a very excited tone. Everyone feels indifferent towards her. Not even one looked at her.
"Oh come on, this isn't that bad, I personally volunteered for this project. Where's my manners, I think to start this conversation I should have kicked it off with an introduction. Silly me. By the way guys, I am Sofie and I'm from the UK. I refused to be ignored this time. And if you want me to shut up you must make me." Princess Sofie doesn't really like being ignored.
"I am Tyler, actually General Johanssen is my father." Tyler's voice is just enough for them to hear what he's saying compared to the loud Princess Sofie.
"What a shame, your father baited you to be a test subject. I don't wanna be rude but that how I look at it. Slacovich, that's my name. Remember it coz I won't repeat myself." Slacovich clenches his fists out of anger.
"Ara here, I'm from India." The typically outspoken Ara dares not to get any attention from all the other candidates. She planned on talking less.
"Li ying is my name and I'm from China. I don't really know what's happening here but I'm not ready for whatever's coming." Her face is expressionless just to hide her true feelings about the matter.
"No one knows what's going to happen to us. And if the success rate is a 100% or not. I'm here for my father's sake. That's all I have to think for me to divert all this unnecessary arguments. I am from France and my name is Diego." Diego looks down in hopelessness.
On the viewing room, all generals including the doctors studied everyone's way of coping up with their situation. They decided to let all six to let loose on their true nature before executing the project. They all need time coz once the project starts there's no room for mistakes.
"General Prius, the Princess sure seems lively." Dr. Spencer said while writing down additional informations on her files.
"She sure is. Let us give them time to mingle with each other. I'm quite confident she can persuade the others on accepting the facts at hand." General Prius grins.
"We might just give it a shot. One week, if they won't resolve on their own wills then we don't have a choice but to do it the hard way." General Johanssen firmly states.
"Agreed General." All of them agreed on the suggestion and continues watching the candidates.
Princess Sofie's outgoing behavior makes her an asset on the current situation. She starts talking with the other girls and slowly they opened up a bit to her. Her personality helps them calm down and be themselves. Even Slacovich starts talking, even though not as gently as he can but atleast he's communicating. They still have their differences, they still haven't come up to the same decisions but their a progress. All of them communicated with each other. A few words can make everything change. Even ones perspective can be doubted, ones principle can waiver. It all matter to how and when those words are being played. Who uses those words and how he or she manages to clarify her own conviction, it all lies within oneself. Whether she plays those words right or ended up destroying ones point of view.
Hopefully, all six of them will come up to the same decision. That all of them openly accepts the everything. Each one of them possesses different capabilities. The success of the project lies within them, they will only rely on themselves.
