Mill pushed open the door at Mauve's scream. She rushed to her and looked at her with a terrified expression before slowly dropping the candle on the table.

"What happened?" Mill looked at Mauve and around her as Mill tried to figure out what the issue was.

Mauve shook her head, "I almost set myself ablaze," she said with a dazed look on her face.

"How?" Mill asked.

"I was trying to check if the white patches had spread some more and then I heard you knock and got startled but I managed to save myself in time," Mauve explained with a sigh.

"Thank goodness." Mill bent down to touch her face. "Your cheeks have more color this morning," Mill said with a grin.

"You think," Mauve asked and touched her face. "I also noticed the white patches haven't increased. At least, the ones on my arms. I was about the check under my dress when you knocked."

"So that's why you got startled," Mill teased.

"I wasn't expecting to be interrupted."
