3 Chapter Three

"Why are you here?" I scream at the person sitting on the bed "Well Ana, they asked me to escort you to see Christophe but seeing how you are still naked I do not think I should take you anywhere, but maybe helping you find a reason to get dressed or you could stay naked I quite like the view." The mysterious female was still sitting on the bed however her eyes were now drawn to my exposed chest causing me to try to cover up "Would you mind please telling me your name? And maybe turning around?" this caused the Woman to laugh before laying down on the bed with her hands over her face "My name is Amara Christophe's parents turned me before he was born so I guess that would class me as his older sister? In human terms?" nodding my head, I quickly slipped into the clothes that I brought out with me before I moved to sit on the bed with her "Well Amara, it is nice to meet you." I brought my foot up to my knee and tried to put the heels on.

"Can you walk in those?" Amara looked at my feet in wonder. This time I laughed "I don't know but there is a first time for everything." I stood up and immediately felt the difference in my height. "Okay, I guess we are ready to go see Christophe," I said as Amara stood up "Please, lead the way." I motioned towards the door and we both walked out. "So Amara, how long has this castle been built? And may I say it's very modern," I tried to make small talk, causing her to look at me. "they built the castle pre-discovery. Since everyone came out we've adapted a more modern take on the castle everything here is basically brand new as we change it every five years or so." nodding my head I looked at the different painting that covered the walls.

"Where are we supposed to be meeting him?" I turned towards Amara and she stopped in front of a door "You are to meet him in the Alstroemeria Garden next to the big Banyan tree you cannot miss it." She pushed open the door, and I immediately got an aroma of all the fresh flowers outside that door. "I am going out there alone?" I looked at her confused and she chuckled "yes Ana, you are going to meet him alone. Don't worry, he doesn't bite. Much." with that being said, she literally disappeared from sight.

"Well, I guess it's just me, myself and I" I mumble to myself and step through the door and was surprised by how beautiful it looked. Small hedges were surrounding the garden, creating a fence like appearance. In front of the hedges sat garden beds of all different shapes and sizes, and right in the middle of the garden sat an enormous tree it looked like a hedge itself with bits of ivy hanging from the branches. Underneath the branches were four black steel benches on the bench facing away from me sat Christophe.

"Hello," I whisper as I made my way closer I could see that he was gazing at something however I could not tell what. "Good afternoon Ana, I hope you are well." walking around the bench to sit next to him I nodded "I am doing much better than this morning. I was told you wanted to speak with me?" his gaze finally snapped to my face and I could see the worry and concern in his eyes. "I would like to explain some things to you, but I need you to listen, and I mean really listen." He started as his face turned into that of worry. I wanted to make the worry go away I didn't want him to worry about anything I only wanted him to be happy, so I nodded.

"Of course, you can tell me anything." I whisper and unconsciously moved closer to him. "As a Vampire, we have someone who is attached to us for life and we only have one. For us Vampires, we refer to them as Beloved humans refer to them as soulmates I believe. As a Beloved, they will have the same smell as the Vampire line they are attached to for my line that would be the Sage. Beyond that, they would then have the smell that is attached to a certain Vampire in that line, In my case, it is lavender so your smell to other Vampires or Shifters would be that of Lavender and Sage," I raised my hand to stop him.

" I Smell like Lavender and Sage? To pretty much every supernatural species in the world?" my voice wavered slightly "Well yes, to the Vampires, it will be stronger as they are all loyal to myself and my family but to others, it will be fainter more like a perfume than that of an actual scent." he took a deep breath and sighed "You are the one thing that can calm me down, You are the only thing that can help me keep my family line going. I need you and you need me." the more he spoke, the more frightened I became. "I don't want to be any of that. I just want to go home. I want to see my mother and my little sister. I don't want to save an entire family line by doing who knows what." I freaked out at the thought of potentially dying trying to do everything that he said I could do.

"Ana, your heart rate is spiking, you need to calm down before you have a panic attack and pass out." however, I could barely hear him with the pounding in my ears I stood up and turned around to walk away I could hear him calling for me however I just couldn't get myself to turn around and go back to him. I had made it back to the door by now and was now running down the hall trying to escape the panic in my head. I took many twists and turns and went down many stairs before coming to a stop in front of an Iron gate that was slightly ajar. Panting and slightly out of breath, I could hear the moans of anguish from behind the gate and felt the need to investigate, so without thinking about it too much I pushed the gate open and went through it.

Closing the gate behind me, I looked down the black tunnel. Shaking the fear away, I started walking down it.
