8 Chapter 8

Kuro answers, "Why, we are at my mansion of course!" I smile and run on inside with William following closely behind.

"So cool!" William says in awe of the foyer. Yami, Shizen, and Karera walk in shortly after with Kuro following close behind.

Yami gasps, "Woah, this place is enormous!" Shizen looks around with a keen interest in the structure.

Shizen looks at Kuro and asks, "How many trees were cut down to build this place?"

Kuro smiles, "None, it's made completely of rocks and stone found in the nearby mines." he answers. Shizen nods appreciatively.

Karera is running in circles around us, "So much open space!" they shout. I laugh and look at Yami who is taking in the sights of such a huge entryway.

"I'm glad you guys like it because this is where Hannah is going to live from now on." Kuro says, walking towards the grand staircase that leads up to all three stories as well as the roof.

They all exclaim, "Really? Awesome! Does that mean we can visit her after school?"

Kuro chuckles, "Of course it does. At night I will be teaching her how to shift into her bat form so if you guys want to spend the night you will have to be able to stay up until midnight." He says.

I smile and run up the stairs. "Hey, Uncle? Where's my room? I wanna see if it really is identical to the one at my dad's house!" I say. He nods towards the right side of the second floor. "Guys! C'mon!" I shout with glee before running the rest of the way up the stairs and to the second floor. William, Yami, Shizen, and Karera follow. We explore the second floor until I find my room.

"Woah. Is this really what your room at your dad's looked like?" William asks. I set down Midnight and he jumps up onto my bed and curls up in a ball, falling asleep.

"Yup. It sure is." I say, looking around before sitting on the edge of my bed.
