2 Chapter 2

When I woke up the next day I grabbed my clothes and quickly put them on, being quiet so I didn't wake up dad. I then grabbed the blood pouch out of my mini-fridge and tore into it. As soon as I am done with the pouch I throw it away in the special waste bin I have in my room. I then have my lunch packed with blood-filled bottles, then I put on my special sunscreen before I run out the door. I then walked all the way to school, luckily I made it on time due to me waking up early enough for me to walk to school. I quickly find my classroom, as I remember the layout of the school just by looking at the map once. I'm the first one to class and I pick a seat in the darkest corner of the room, which is in the back and far away from the windows.

"Welcome, Miss Hannah, I see you are the first one here." The lady, who I assume is my first-hour teacher, says. "Oh, uh yeah. I didn't know if you could uh see me." I said. The lady laughs, "I can smell your sunscreen from here, dear." she says. "You must be one of the werewolf teachers I was told I was gonna have," I respond.

"It's easier for us werewolves to hide among humans than vampires." She said, just as she said vampires, a boy walked in. "Did you say, vampires?" He asks, excitedly. I can hear his heartbeat from here and I could tell that he's human. "Also, who are you talking to?" He adds.

"She was talking to me," I say, walking closer to the light so he could see me clearly. "About vampires? What for?" He asks. I noticed that his heartbeat had quickened and that his cheeks were slightly flushed.

I grin, revealing a slight fang. "Why, because I wanted to know why the Vampires have gone extinct, silly!" I say. "Woah! Are those real fangs?!" He says, seeing my fang, then adds, "My name is William J. Catson."

"Nice to meet you, William, I'm Hannah. And no the fangs are fake. They're replacements for the teeth I permanently lost." I say.

"Hannah, do you have a last name?" William asks.

"Mr. Catson! Leave the poor girl alone will you?" The lady says with a growl.

"Yes Mrs. Wolfsbane," William says before sitting next to my desk. "It's dark back here, you sure you're not a vampire?" He asks.

"And if I was? What would you do? Run in fear? Call me a freak? Attempt to kill me?" I answer, sitting down at my desk.

William shakes his head and says, "No, I would ask you to bite me. But that still doesn't answer my question."

I sigh and shake my head before saying, "No, I'm not a vampire. They were killed thousands of years ago and even if there were still a few living vampires left, they're probably really old by now."

"Yeah, I guess," William said. The rest of the kids in the class show up.

Mrs. Wolfsbane greets the class with, "Good morning class, welcome back to school."

During lunch, I bump into William, which causes me to almost drop my lunchbox. "Sorry!" I say, but then notice who it is. "Oh! William, hi."

William smiles, "Hey Hannah. Want to eat lunch with me?" He asks.
