1.1 : OMNIOUS FEELING.

We continued to walk through the open hallway. I knew our conversation wasn't done. But I sensed something iffy about how Marcus reacted just now. I wanted to dig deeper but me raising the topic would just nullify my opinion. I just had to wait for him to raise the topic. But I wasn't in hurry to have that particular conversation now.

Marcus stopped by near the window and looked at the sky. I didn't particularly heed any attention to it and just went ahead. Strolling around here would just end up in me attracting more prying eyes than I already needed. And right now, that's the last thing I need. I could hear Marcus mumbling to himself in the background.

This was just a regular sight for both of us every day. We were a pair of oddballs at the campus.

"Oi! Don't you have practice? You can still make it in time instead of wasting your time idling by the window panes!" Well, it was clear that this was going to end up in a deep conversation if I were to ask him what was on his mind right now. So it was quite clear that I had to steer clear of that topic at any cost.

"Axel!" Marcus called out to me. I just stopped slowly and passed a look at him indicating him to proceed on with what he intended to say.

"It's strange to me to ask, but what's your take on supernatural stuff in general?" Well, to say that I'm dumbfounded by what he said is an understatement. Marcus would be the last person I would picture asking me such a question, and yet, here were are. Though on that note, I very rarely talk to anyone else than him since my choice to talk to people is on a pretty scarce level.

Putting that aside, it was duly my duty to give him my opinion since he decided to ask me.

"It's the same as love." Marcus understood me well enough to know what I meant. So, I'll leave it at that.

"Ah! That bad eh? But what if you had a supernatural encounter? Then, what would do?" He's been persistently questioning this for a while now.

"Well, I'll see when that happens. Besides, what's up with you? I mean, all of a sudden to ask such a question, are you alright?"

"Never mind, it was a strange question to ask." Certainly, it was. Though I had a strange feeling about this. But I just couldn't point my finger at what that was.

"Well, in the off-chance that I do get involved in such a debacle and have no means of escape, which I wouldn't bother much about, I do hope that the next victim would be you and you'd go to hell". I certainly hoped that would be the case. A worthy and befitting end to this idiot.

At that moment, I felt a sharp pain within my head, like a static shock surged within me. Argh! I let out a small shriek, enough to put everyone on guard. It happened again. I could sense the frightened glares surrounding me.

"Dude, you, all right? Is it that feeling again?" Marcus was clearly curious and concerned about me. But for different and more alarming reasons. He tried to put his hand on my shoulder but I instantly pushed it away.

"Yeah, I'm alright. It's the usual. Anyway, it's getting late. I'll just get a head start to my room. I guess...I'll just meet you tomorrow. Yeah, tomorrow. I should go now. See you around." I just said my goodbyes and just walked at a brisk pace. I just didn't want to stay there. I rushed to the washroom at the far end of the campus where very few people would move around, which correlated to fewer people using it.

I immediately shut the door, entered the nearest sink, and puked. It was awful. The pain in my head was killing me. And today, it was way worse than before. I couldn't take it anymore.

Ugh! I just want to die! I can't take it anymore. I was stuck there for a while, waiting for the pain to die down. Meanwhile, the foul smell was getting to my head but I couldn't go anywhere else. I just stayed there for a few moments, cleaned up how much ever was humanly possible from my end, and later left an apology letter behind the door to the cleaning stuff and went back to my room.

On my way, I stopped by a medical store to grab some medicines. The clerk was used to seeing me around and had my fresh supply of medicines ready for me, which saved me the hassle of having to wait around. I started heading back to my room. It was some 500 to 800 meters away from where I was now but the pain started to escalate now.

I went down an alleyway and started to puke there. I couldn't handle it anymore. I crashed down to the ground. Coughing and wheezing, I wailed in pain. And to add to that misery, the wind started to pick up its pace indicating that it might rain pretty soon.

THIS DAY COULDN'T GET ANY WORSE!

While I was busy cursing to myself, the rain started to shower onto the earth. I immediately got up and moved away from that place and tried to pick up myself with the support of the wall. For what was just a moment felt like an eternity when I heard a scream in this downpour which started to pick up the pace after that sound. I had a bad feeling about this. I should have turned away, but instead, I just chose to not heed to that and moved right towards the source of that sound.

I walked for a few meters, all while my visibility went down further and further until I reached the end of the alley. I decided to call it quits, until I heard a sound distinctly clear this time.
