1 New Alpha

Lar stood tall his thick black fur coat keeping him from the blistering snow, his amber eyes were scouting the hunting grounds filled with elk ready to give birth.

"What is it,"

a young male with tan fur looked at Lar, his mustard yellow eyes focused on the alpha.

"Checking what elk to hunt,"

his amber eyes shift onto the young male,

"how's Huata, Grey?"

Lar's body rested on the mound his stare still on gray.

"Huata is well,"

Grey wagged his tan tail as he mixed scents with Lar.

The spring moon started to rise as Lar let a howl of courtship sending it long into the barren valley a sound for a healthy female, alone howl responded near the river, the border of his territory, a young female ready to mate for the first time.

Lar barked to Grey his beta leaving the den site with sick Huata, a small white female, Grey's younger sister.

As Lar and Grey charged to the border he let a softer howl out, an invitation for the stranger to cross into his territory.

Out of some brush appeared a light brown female, her size was around medium, as she hopped over landing on stones stuck in river mud.

Once she stepped a paw on the powdered snow of the Valley Packs territory, Lar immediately stood up his black fur up along with his tail ear's forward the fae lowered herself and licking his cheeks waiting for acceptance, Lar slowly wagged his tail accepting the young fae as his new mate name Blizzard.

Once the three wolves returned Lar and Blizzard mated after mixing scents, Lar howled "pup's" as Gray, Huata, Blizzard joined.

The wolves slept peacefully, as morning came, Lar and the pack had to get ready for pup's, lifting his head for a hunt, gray and sick Huata joined.

"Stay,"

Lar said his tail up his gaze pointing at Huata.

A look of disappointment took the small fae's body down as she crept back into the den, the taste of sickness filled gray's maw as he tasted the air.

Heading down the melting snow mound Lar motioned Gray to circle a blackberry shrub,

"sick mule deer"

His scent was read by Gray as he quietly padded behind it spooking a doe, as they lead on chasing it they wore out the sick doe taking it down.

Sending a howl of victory out, Lar and Gray fed on the doe's carcass, Lar messaged Gray to take some food back to Huata.

Blizzard dug some dirt out of the den making a certain spot deeper for her to deliver her pup's, Huata sensed the pregnant fae as she slowly padded out of the den, her fur was dirty with mud, she rolled in a bit of snow cleaning the mud off her white pelt.

Poking her brown head out of the den Blizzard padded up to Huata her large belly growing every day.

"what's wrong,"

Blizzard stood by the small fae as her tail wagged.

"I'm sick"

Huata sighed her ears down her small body thin.

Blizzard nuzzled her gently before going to meet Lar and Gray who were holding large amounts of meat as they set it down for the two fae's.

Happy the two Fae's mixed scents with the males before eating, Gray walking into the den scraping-out leaves, padding out the young male stood by Lar.

"Something wrong,"

Gray tilted one ear to one side as he awaited a reply from his alpha.

"It's Huata,"

Lar's body let a huff of steaming air out.

Shifting his body to look at Gray, his amber eyes seeming dead.

"What about Huata,"

Gray whimpered his big paws moving a bit as he stood by Lar.

Lar's ear pointed down as he looked back at the two fae's finishing their meals.

"she is getting too weak,"

Lar's body moved away from Gray, looking down at the newborn elk.

"But-she can get-,"

Gray was cut off by Lar's low growl, reminding him that he was not alpha.

"We are expecting pup's; we need strong wolves,"

his growl stopped to a slow, as he walked to Blizzard's side nuzzling her gently.
