25 Surgery

Next morning I left without my parents noticing. Mother was on her laptop in the dining room while father was in the study. Normal start to the day and quite easy to sneak out of I do say so myself.

Standing outside the backdoor to the mansion I took out my phone and sent a message to Mark, requesting that I need transport in the limousine.

I went to the parked limousine in the garage and a few minutes later I saw Mark, calmly walking up to the vehicle with the car key in hand. With a click of a button the doors silently unlocked and we both got in.

He had a smart casual suit, dark blue button up shirt and black pants. His looks were above average with his chiseled face and dark brown hair brushed to the side as usual.

His old money problem was not very apparent now. I then felt my own messy blonde hair which I forgot to brush in the morning and felt a bit awkward.

My chauffeur looks better then me now!

(Side note: There was no comparison to be made between Micheal and Mark because the messy hair made him look more sexy and badass. Micheal just didn't look in the mirror in the morning.)

"Take me to her place," I said.

I saw him look through the mirror and nod his head, that was all the information he needed because she was the only girl I actually visited.

I was right handed because my parents kind of forced that onto me but naturally I'm left handed, the thing is it's been so long since I've used my left hand that it's difficult to use it in day to day activities I do with my right hand.

Simple things like opening the door handle was awkward because I did it with my left hand.

My right hand all the while was being useless as it just flopped by my side. I look at the white bandages hand, after today I'll be able to use it again.

...

We got out to see the familiar sight of the medical centre and proceeded to enter. The reception lady didn't look up as she requested for my appointment notification.

I showed her my phone on which I received a notification from Anastasia yesterday after the check up.

The lady was a pretty one I must admit, her hair was tied back neatly in a bun and her face was full of sharp lines giving her a strict and mature look. She was a person not to be made an enemy of, that's what her demeanour seemed to always say. Her glasses that rested on her nose only added to that look.

She was dressed in a professional attire that was at knee height and was a grey colour with a red cardigan on.

She only looked up to scan the code on my phone without making eye contact and her eyes went a fraction wider when she looked back at her screen.

"Ummm, right this way sir," she then said with hesitation.

That cunning doctor, she put my real name on there just to annoy the hell out of me!

On the outside I just sighed at this realisation but didn't do anything else.

I followed the receptionist to the room I went to last time.

"Welcome back," she said sarcastically as I entered her room.

A mature face with glasses that accented her facial features and a dress that added to her mature figure.

This annoying person was the one we all met yesterday, enter, Dr Anastasia Hu. Sigh, if only the best doctor that topped the world charts in basically everything was not so... just.... her!

When she looked up a small smile fell upon her lips as she noticed, well she probably did, the anger in my eyes and annoyance.

"Are you going to sit down or stand there, I personally don't mind that much." She said with a smile looking smug as ever.

I let out a soft grunt as I went to sit down on the one of the chairs beside her desk.

She motioned for me to show me my hand, I dragged it onto the desk with a flop. She took off her glasses and got a pair of gloves that fit onto her hands with a snap.

She brushed off the powder that was stuck onto the burn.

The burn seem to have spread as my whole hand was now an unhealthy red colour, at the same time the burn itself was healing. Though my whole hand was still bleeding it was better then the immense internal bleeding that was happening before.

"Still want to do surgery?" She asked with an eyebrow slightly lifted.

"Can it heal by the end of the day if you do?" I asked back.

"Yes," she said as she wrapped my hand up temporarily.

"Then do the surgery,"

She stood up and looked back and continued to walk, I followed after that movement and we went to the room into the next room where I laid on the bed prepared to have an even number arm.

...

A few hours later I was walking out with a still bandages arm but I could move it now. When moved my hand was stiff and the only solution that I could think of was piano.

I could train my hand muscles up to the standard they were before in a matter of a few practice sessions.

As much as I hated the idea it was the quickest way I could think of at the moment.

Tomorrow is a new location, if she isn't dead by then that is.

I went to the limousine that was parked outside the building on the road and made eye contact with Mark.

I got in and Mark drove off towards the mansion. The sky was already bleeding its sunset red, the day slowly dissolving into the colour of space, alight only because of lunar.

The whole way home I was gripping and releasing with my right hand, trying to get use to the new feeling.

I got home still with a white bandage wrapped around my hand but at least it was now functioning.

Tomorrow I'll go to the second location on the list and hopefully I won't need to go visit the third.
