43 Chapter 43 - The Place Without Sunlight

"You know what language it is?" Kah Moon Tii asks in a shocked voice.

Mi Young, who was only able to learn this language because of Se Heon's memories, nodded her head. "Yes. Long story short, I am fully aware of this language and can read it."

There was joy in the eyes of the Alpha and the chief. Mi Young can see the look of relief in their eyes as they watch Mi Young's every move.

Se Heon raised the book in his hands. "So? What should we do about this? How is this thing going to work?"

"You want to start now?" The chief asks.

Both students nodded their heads with grave expressions.

The Alpha and the chief didn't waste any time as they ushered the two students outside the chief's house.

"Follow me here, dear heroes."

Mi Young and Se Heon followed the chief as they walked further into their village.

Their walk was about ten minutes. They passed a few more huts before the scenery around them changed into trees.

After a while, they stopped in front of a huge stone formation that was big enough to fit two classrooms.

"Woah. What is this place?" Se Heon asks, looking mesmerized while looking at the large rock in front of them.

"This is the entrance to the cave where the gate towards the lair of the Cyclops is located." The chief says. "Only I can open this gate."

The three of them remained standing as the chief of the dwarves walked closer towards the rock formation.

They watched silently as chief Kah Moon Tii placed his hands on the surface of the rock before he started chanting some words that Mi Young and Se Heon couldn't understand.

Sensing their confusion and silent question, the Alpha of the Silent Wolves whispers between them, "That's the language of the dwarves. Even I couldn't understand a single word of it. The Moon Goddess said that only those who have the blood of the dwarves will be able to understand their language even without learning it. And those who try to learn it, will still not be able to understand it."

Mi Young and Se Heon nodded in amazement upon hearing what the Alpha said. Whoever this Moon Goddess is, she's starting to become a respectable and powerful image in the eyes of the two students. If only they could meet her before they go back to their own timeline.

After a few seconds, the huge rock formation started to shake.

The chief of the dwarves immediately backed off as the shaking continued.

They remain watching as the rock split open in two revealing a huge and empty cave inside.

The Alpha and the chief of the dwarves immediately went inside, leaving the two students behind.

"Are you sure it's safe inside?" Se Heon asked. He looks unsure of the cave.

"Why are you so scared? You're a Geo user." Mi Young says while she follows the two who had already gone first.

Se Heon looked embarrassed at the girl's comment before he instantly walked up beside her to catch up. He leans in closer to Mi Young as he whispers in her ear, "I'm not scared."

"Whatever." Mi Young says while rolling her eyes.

When they noticed that the Alpha and the chief stopped, they also stopped behind them.

"What's that?" / "Is that the gate?"

Se Heon and Mi Young both asked in unison.

The chief of the dwarves didn't even need to look at them as he nodded his head. "Yes. This is the gate towards the lair of the Cyclops."

Then Mi Young felt a slight push on her back and she immediately looked at Se Heon who had an encouraging look on his face. "Go on. Say the chant."

Alpha Kah Ih Doo and chief Kah Moon Tii parted a way in order for Mi Young to be able to walk towards the giant gate.

"Remember that your way is different from mine. Before, all I needed to do was say the chant three times and drop a small part of my blood and the gate would automatically open." Kah Moon Tii says as he leads Mi Young towards a small magic circle in the center. "Since you are the maiden in the prophecy, all you have to do is say the chant three times and call out any of your elements. Just one. Then I'll mix my blood into your element. After that, you will have to push this element of yours on that hole at the center of the gate. Do you see that?"

Mi Young nodded her head as she looked at where Kah Moon Tii was pointing. She saw a hole in the center of the gate that is surrounded by ancient symbols that Mi Young does not understand. Perhaps it is the language of the Dwarves.

"Good. You can now proceed. Be careful and good luck."

Mi Young's hand was shaking as she felt the presence of the chief disappear beside her.

Now, she feels alone and there's a huge heavy weight in her shoulder that keeps her breathing ragged and heavy.

She knows that the others are waiting for her and she needs to start the chant but she can't move a muscle. It feels like something is weighing down on her and it's making her scared.

When Mi Young was about to start, even with her hands shaking, a voice so ancient suddenly echoed in her mind.

"Who is this young lad trying to defy me?" The voice says. It sounded angry and curious at the same time. The voice spoke once more, "You are not from here. Who are you?"

The black haired girl doesn't know if what the voice meant was that she wasn't from the Silent Village or if she isn't from this timeline at all, either way it's still making her scared.

Mi Young wanted to answer but there's no voice coming out from her mouth. The voice seemed to laugh and mocked her at the same time. "Cat got your tongue, little one? Very well, if you wish to proceed with your plan I'm sure you will still fail in the hands of the enemies you will encounter."

After that, the coldness that seeped into Mi Young's bones earlier as well as the heavy weight in her body disappeared as soon as the ancient presence vanished.

"Mi Young?" Suddenly, a pair of strong and familiar arms held the black haired girl's shoulder. Mi Young doesn't even need to look at Se Heon to know that he's looking at her intensely. "Are you okay? You don't have to do this if you can't. We're not from here anyway, this won't affect us."

It took the girl a couple of seconds before she answered with a small smile. "I'm fine. It's alright. I made a promise, remember?"

Se Heon was about to reason out once more but the girl slightly pushed him away. And with a pout, Mi Young said, "Go. I need to make this chant work first."

The boy rolled his eyes at her playfully before he nodded and went back to where he was standing earlier. But before doing so, he gripped Mi Young's hands with assurance before whispering, "I'm right here, okay?"

Somehow, Mi Young felt relieved because of Se Heon's presence. She cast another reassuring smile before she proceeded to face the gate once more.

Mi Young took a deep breath before she opened her eyes to read the chant, "Here goes nothing."

The black haired girl read the passage written on the paper three times, just like what Kah Moon Tii instructed. After that, she called out her Pyro element, which was the element she was most comfortable and confident with.

Kah Moon Tii stood beside Mi Young as he cut open a portion of his hands to let his blood mix with Mi Young's flames.

The orange fire turned blood red just as soon as the chief of the dwarves dropped his blood on Mi Young's fire.

Knowing what to do next, Mi Young shots the fire into the hole at the center of the gate.

Although it was only for a couple of minutes and she only drew out a small flame, Mi Young can feel a huge sum of her mana depleting.

"I forgot to tell you that it takes away a large sum of your mana." Kah Moon Tii apologizes beside her. Mi Young just shakes her head before smiling at the chief and telling him she's fine.

However, Se Heon didn't take it lightly. The boy ran towards Mi Young the moment the girl was about to fall on the ground. He looked at the chief with an angry glare before he said, "You should have warned her before letting her do that risky move. And now what, nothing happened!"

The boy shouts as he looks around the cave to find something that changed. But everything remained still just like earlier.

"I told you, she's not the girl you want! Let's go Mi Young." The boy says one more time before he starts to drag the girl with him. But before they could even take a step, the whole cave shook.

"What the f*ck?" Se Heon whispers under his breath. "What's happening?"

Despite the boy's aggressive behavior earlier and his rudeness towards him, Kah Moon Tii remained calm. He understands the boy's feelings and he knows it is his fault why the boy was acting like that. "My apologies for causing your lady harm. But the plan worked and we are now able to get inside the lair of the Cyclops."

As the gate opened, the ground continued shaking.

The Alpha which was just looking from behind, finally came up to stand beside the others.

He had a determined and excited look on his face.

"Are you ready to face our brother, Ih Doo?" Chief Kah Moon Tii asks while looking at the leader of the wolves.

Ih Doo didn't spare him any glance as he looked at the now fully opened gate, "Ready as you."

And together, the four of them stepped inside the place where the sun never reaches.
