29 Chapter 29 - Learning the Language of the Sage Part 3

"That's him." Shang Min nudged Mi Young by her foot.

"Se Heon, you're back already?" Ji Sung asks as he walks towards the expressionless boy. The more Mi Young looks at him, the more she's confused. The boy looked extremely familiar to her. Ji Sung turned towards where Mi Young and Shang Min were sitting and said, "Girls, this is Jeon Se Heon. He's my younger cousin."

"He's a Jeon as well?" Shang Min asks.

"Yeah. He's Shi Yun's older brother."

The question that kept running inside Mi Young's mind was finally answered.

Looking at Jeon Se Heon, Mi Young is instantly reminded b y her co-freshmen, Shi Yun. They have the same jet black hair. Although Shi Yun is a little taller than the other boy, their facial expression and the shape of their faces are exactly the same.

"Unlike me, Se Heon wasn't casted out by the family." Ji Sung says. He had a smile on his face but it was obvious that he's kind of hurting inside. Everyone tried to remain ignorant about it, trying to act oblivious to the boy's inner feelings.

"The Jeon family plays favorites?" Shang Min asked with a voice filled with innocence, so they let it off since it wasn't a rude question at all. She might have talked to the other boy before but she wasn't aware of his family history. They only talked because they accidentally met in the forest behind the school.

"No. Se Heon is a dual cultivator. He can control Pyro and Geo." Ji Sung explains. "Which is why it's okay for the family for him to stay."

Mi Young looked at Jeon Se Heon who was already looking back at her. There was a sudden tension in the atmosphere the moment both their eyes met.

Everyone feels suffocated just watching the two of them battle for dominance.

Since Mi Young is younger, it was her who pulled out from the connection first. She heaves out a deep sigh before she turns to Shang Min.

"Let's go."

"Huh? I thought we need to—"

Mi Young stands up from where she was sitting, "I'll find another way on my own."

"You two just got here—"

"I'm so sorry for being rude but I need to go. I'll come by next time and make it up to you." The girl bows towards the seniors who were all looking at her confusingly with her sudden change of behavior. "Thank you for your warm welcome, seniors."

After that, Mi Young walked towards the door at a hasty pace. When she brushed past Se Heon, she couldn't stop the goosebumps from rising all over her body which she tried to hide.

Shang Min, who was following right behind Mi Young, bowed at Se Heon as well before she finally went out from the door.

"Mi Young! Wait!"

Shang Min ran after the black haired girl who continued walking away from the Geo faction's home, not looking back at all.

To the blonde girl, Mi Young looked like someone who was running away from her enemy.

She decided to ask Mi Young about it once the other person stops walking too fast. Shang Min remained calm behind the other girl as she followed her back towards the academy.

However, as they were nearing the gate that would lead them back to the main grounds of the academy, Mi Young suddenly collapses out of nowhere.

Shang Min who was walking behind her immediately summoned a water bubble that caught Mi Young before her body fell on solid ground.

The blonde girl ran towards Mi Young who had her eyes closed while on top of the water bubble Shang Min made, "Mi Young? Mi Young! Wake up! Hey!"

She checks Mi Young's pulse and heartbeat and breathes out a sigh of relief when she hears it steadily beating. However, Mi Young's face is still pale and her eyes are shut tight.

Not knowing what to do, Shang Min could only think about going back to the Geo faction to ask for help.

She controlled her water bubble, with Mi Young on top, and made it follow her until they reached the Geo faction's dorm.

Immediately, Jin opened the gate for her seeing that she had a serious and panic-stricken expression on.

"Help!" Shang Min shouts as they enter the house.

But what shocked her most was also the commotion going on inside.

Lying on the sofa with the same pale skin and closed eyes as Mi Young was Jeon Se Heon.

The seniors looked at her at the same time, their faces were full of worry as well.

"What happened?" Senior Ha Rin asks as she comes running towards Shang Min.

Shang Min looked lost as she tried to retell the events the moment they left the house. "…and she suddenly fell out of nowhere. I don't know what to do since her skin started turning pale white. I panicked and the first thing that came in my mind is to bring her here."

The seniors felt pity towards the freshman student who looked seriously scared seeing her friend collapse in front of her all of a sudden.

Choi Ha Na went towards the crying blonde girl and enveloped her into a tight hug to comfort her.

"Don't worry, it'll be fine. We're here to help you." The senior says as she continues patting the freshman student's back.

"Is it your first time seeing her collapse?" Kwon Soo Hyun asks the younger girl. Shang Min nodded her head, her eyes still red from crying.

"It's Se Heon's first time as well." Park Ha Rin added while looking at the pale faced boy who was unconsciously lying on the sofa. "I never saw him this pale."

"It's weird." Jin says as he eyes the two bodies. "Why would they collapse at the same time?"

"It is indeed weird. To top all of that, it was also their first time meeting each other." Kwon Soo Hyun added. He turns towards Ji Sung who has a deep frown on his face. "What do you think, Cap?"

Ji Sung was sitting in front of the two unconscious bodies while thinking hard. His eyebrows are both furrowed, a sign that he is in deep concentration. The other people inside the room all looked at him expectantly. But he ignored them as he said to himself, "Two people collapsing…first time meeting…mana energy…could it be?"

"What?" Park Ha Rin asks when they heard what Ji Sung muttered. But instead of getting an answer, their captain stood up and walked towards the space between Mi Young and Se Heon.

"Ji Sung, what's wrong?" Kwon Soo Hyun questioned when Ji Sung started touching Se Heon's body.

"Quick! Help me remove Se Heon's clothes." Instead of answering Soo Hyun's question, Ji Sung started picking up the unconscious Se Heon's body as he tried to remove his clothes.

Although they don't know why Ji Sung was acting that way, they still followed his orders.

When the two boys finally managed to remove Se Heon's sweatshirt, Ji Sung proceeded to check on his cousin's right arm.

He checks the other arm and stops when he finds what he was looking for.

"It's true…" Ji Sung whispers. Everyone around him is getting more confused and curious about the things running inside his mind right now. When he remembered something, Ji Sung quickly moved towards Mi Young and started checking her arms as well.

When Ji Sung saw what he was looking for, he fell down on the floor while touching his head. "I thought it was only a legend…"

"Ji Sung? You're scaring us, what's wrong?" The usually jolly and loud Choi Ha Na asked in a grave voice.

Ji Sung looked up at her as he answers her question while sounding like a madman, "It wasn't a legend."

"Can you please elaborate it to us?" Park Ha Rin says.

Ji Sung clears his throat before standing up and fixing himself. He turned his gaze towards the two unconscious students and started explaining, "There is a well-known legend back in the South where I grew up. The legend is about two souls which seemed alike."

"Can you speak in our language please? I can't quite comprehend what you're saying." Kwon Soo Hyun says.

"He's already speaking in our language, idiot!" Ha Rin smacks Soo Hyun in the back of his head before she turns to Ji Sung, "Please ignore Soo Hyun and continue what you were saying."

Ji Sung chuckles at his friend's goofiness. Seeing that he's back with his calm demeanor, everyone started relaxing as they listen to his explanation. "As I was saying, back in our hometown, there was a legend about two souls. They say when two dual cultivators with the same first element meet, their souls will link with each other."

"What do you mean link? And what's with the soul thingy?"

"Since Se Heon has a Pyro element and Mi Young also has one, and they are both dual cultivators, their mana energy started linking the moment they met. Before, the Gods believed that humans need a pair to survive, just like animals and other beings. So they split a human's soul in two and separated them. If they are truly destined to meet, these two souls will link with each other and will form a bond that would help them to be together forever. However, people did not believe this since they haven't met two people with the same soul." Ji Sung explains. "But it happened to two persons way back during the reign of the second King. They said that these two were both dual cultivators who didn't know each other but both collapsed on the first day they met. After that, when they woke up, they immediately started acting buddies like they've known each other for years already."

"So what you're trying to say is..."

"Yes. This simply means that when Se Heon and Mi Young both wake up, the two of them will have each other's memories. Everything Se Heon remembers as well as the things he learned will be shared and linked to Mi Young and vice versa." Ji Sung explained, sounding more and more amazed as he spoke each word.

"How do you know that?"

"The tattoos on their arms proved that its true." Ji Sung walked towards the space between Mi Young and Se Heon and pointed at the tattoos that now appeared at the inner part of their left arms. "This tattoos are both evidence that they are now caranams."

"Caranams?" Shang Min suddenly asks. She removed herself from Ha Na's hug and asked Ji Sung once more, "You mean that legend where both people will have each other's souls linked with theirs?"

Ji Sung nodded in agreement. "When they wake up, they will most likely understand each other. There will be a bond between them that no one could ever explain except them."

Silence enveloped everyone around the living room as they both watched the two unconscious bodies.

However, seconds after, Se Heon and Mi Young started moving, a sign that they are both waking up.

It was Se Heon who sat up first. "What happened?"

Then Mi Young followed the next second, not saying a word but just grunting from the small pain.

When Se Heon and Mi Young turned their heads towards each other, everyone expected them to talk, knowing that they both have each other's memories.

However, just as their eyes met, both parties immediately stood up and called on their elements while preparing to attack each other.
