19 Chapter 19 - Lady Ning Gwang

Mi Young walks back to the center of the library where Jong In was waiting for her.

When she neared where her friend was waiting for her, she saw Jong In looking at something with a grumpy expression.

"What's up?" Mi Young asks as she holds the red book in her hands. However, Jong In didn't spare her any glance as he still remains looking at something in front.

Mi Young followed his gaze and saw Oh Shi Xun, together with Jeon Shi Yun, talking to the librarian.

Oh Shi Xun seemed like he was explaining something to Lady Ning Gwang, while Shi Yun remained mute beside him, only listening to Oh Shi Xun blabbering about some things. On the contrary, despite Oh Shi Xun's proud and arrogant smile while he was talking, it looks like Lady Ning Gwang isn't even paying them any attention at all.

They can somehow hear what Oh Shi Xun was saying because it's either the library was too quiet or the latter was making sure that anyone near them can hear what he was saying.

"—and this young man with me is Jeon Shi Yun. He's a very powerful Mage and he came from the Jeon clan! You know them, right? They are the protectors of the South part of the Kingdom, even the King acknowledges their power." Oh Shi Xun says. He holds Shi Yun's shoulder and pulls him closer towards the librarian's table. "I think it's best if you greet the Lady, Jeon. She is a Master in Materialization. That's a very interesting magic, isn't it?"

Despite Oh Shi Xun's constant talking and coaxing, Jeon Shi Yun remained mute. Seeing that Shi Yun wouldn't say anything, Oh Shi Xun lets out an awkward laugh as he pats Shi Yun at the back, "He's a shy guy. But if you teach us lessons about materialization, he will surely warm up to you anytime."

Lady Ning Gwang remained unbothered as she continued reading her book. She didn't even dare spare them any glance at all, even with Oh Shi Xun's continuous praises about Jeon Shi Yun.

"What are they here for?" Mi Young asks Jong In.

"They want Lady Ning Gwang to teach them materialization." Jong In answers while eyeing the two. "Lady Ning Gwang is the best teacher when it comes to Materialization. She's a Master of it. However, she only teaches students who she sees as worthy students."

"Really?" Mi Young looks at the calm and expressionless Jeon Shi Yun, "Jeon Shi Yun is a strong kid, I'm sure he's a worthy student."

"Lady Ning Gwang doesn't care if you are strong or not. If you are not worthy in her eyes she won't bother looking at you. That's how strict and stern she is with her rules." Jong In says as he gives another look at the two Pyro students in front of the librarian. "Why can't they just leave Lady Ning Gwang alone?"

"Oh Shi Xun seems like a persistent person." Looking at the said boy, Mi Young couldn't stop herself from sighing at how annoyingly loud he is.

Some of the students even started giving them looks, they were clearly disturbed by the boy's loud and arrogant voice. Seeing that he was no help at all, Mi Young went closer towards them.

"Hey! Why don't you leave the library already? Can't you see you're disturbing a lot of people who want to concentrate and study?" Mi Young says.

Oh Shi Xun turned his head towards her and gave her an annoyed look, "Leave us alone. No matter how you try to sound rational, you will also not earn the Lady's approval. I mean, look at yourself."

Despite knowing how formidable Mi Young is, and seeing her strong mana and power, Oh Shi Xun believed she is not good with anything. So as much as he wants, he will do anything in order to not let Mi Young know Materialization. He wanted nothing but to prove to the girl that he is much more knowledgeable than her.

"Go away, Mi Young. No one wants you." Oh Shi Xun says. He looks at Lady Ning Gwang once more as he tries to give her another reason to give them Materialization classes. "Please Lady Ning Gwang, I promise we will use your lessons to help others."

"This guy…" Mi Young shakes her head. She turns to Jong In and gestures towards the door. The latter nodded and stood from where he was sitting, ready to go out as well.

"That's right! Leave! People like you do not belong here." Oh Shi Xun shouts after them. They chose to ignore the boy and continued walking towards the door. Mi Young and Jong In can even hear Oh Shi Xun telling the librarian about how weak the both of them are and to not pay them any mind at all. "—that girl? She is a troublemaker, don't bother knowing them, Lady Ning Gwang."

However, just as Jong In and Mi Young were about to leave through the doors, Lady Ning Gwang's voice echoed all throughout the silent halls of the library. "Mi Young! Don't forget about our Materialization lessons tomorrow."

"I didn't say yes yet!" The young girl answers. She contemplates for a second before adding, "Unless you let me bring Jong In with you."

Lady Ning Gwang rolls her eyes at Mi Young. "Fine. Your friend can come along."

Mi Young grins from ear to ear before she smiles gratefully at the librarian while pulling the dazed Jong In outside.

Oh Shi Xun and the rest of the people inside the library dropped their jaws as they heard what Lady Ning Gwang said.

"Y-You're going to teach them M-Materialization, my Lady?" Oh Shi Xun asks, his eyes were about to budge out from their sockets. "T-Them?"

"Who are you again?"

Oh Shi Xun wanted to pull his hair in frustration as his eyes wept with invisible tears. He doesn't understand why the lady chose those two instead of them. 'I was talking to you this whole time, and yet you're not even listening? How cruel can you be, Lady?'

"If you're just going to bother people here inside the library, then I think you must leave now while I'm asking you nicely." Lady Ning Gwang says. She looked at Oh Shi Xun sternly, and her eyes were lazing with annoyance.

"B-But my friend here is Jeon Sh—"

"I don't care if you are a child of the Four Great clans or not. If you cause disturbance inside MY library, no matter who you are, I will make sure that you won't ever get to step inside these halls forever." The librarian says, this time there was a hint of threat laced in her voice. When she notices that Oh Shi Xun is about to say something again, a huge chunk of rock materialized out of nowhere and levitated just behind her.

"B-But—"

The rock changed its shape and became a huge needle, Lady Ning Gwang pointed its sharp end at Oh Shi Xun, "Mind your own business and leave."

"A-As you wish." Oh Shi Xun says before he scurried away from the librarian and out of the library.

Jeon Shi Yun sighs before he starts walking towards the door as well. But before that, the librarian called him to say something like, "I think it's better if you find new friends."

The young boy glanced at her through his shoulders, "Just like what you said, mind your own business."

Lady Ning Gwang looks taken aback at first upon hearing the threat in Jeon Shi Yun's voice. However, she suppresses her anger and her mouth forms into a stern line. "Leave."

"I'm about to." Shi Yun says coolly before he walks towards the exit.

The librarian shakes her head in disappointment, "The generation today is much worse than I expected."

She sighs once more before she picks up the book she was reading earlier. "Now, where was I?"

"Hey! What's with your face?" Mi Young asks, annoyance evident in her voice as she waves a hand in front of the still Jong In. "Jong In! JONG IN!"

"Y-Yes?"

"What happened?"

"I'm the one who's supposed to ask you that!" Mi Young says. "What happened to you?"

Jong In's ears turned red as he scratched the back of his neck, there was a sheepish smile forming on his lips. "I just can't believe I would be getting lessons from Lady Ning Gwang!"

"Is she that good?" Mi Young asks. She was getting curious about the woman's ability. Ever since she learned her name, all she can hear about is how she is a master of Materialization.

"She is not just good, she is a genius!" Jong In corrects as he spins his body to face Mi Young fully. "She is the youngest teacher to be admitted here in the academy! When she started here, almost all of the noble families wanted to admit their children to her class!"

"I thought she was just a librarian?"

"That's why she chose to become the librarian instead. She doesn't want to be bothered by students who are not worth it and who just happened to pass the exam because of their wealth and power. Lady Ning Gwang wants to teach lessons to students who are worth it and responsible enough. At least to her eyes." Jong In explains. There was admiration in his eyes and Mi Young laughed at how ridiculous his crush is towards their teacher.

"Are you sure it's not just because she has big boobs?"

Jong In's face turns a deeper shade of red when he hears Mi Young's words. "It's not! I-It's truly an honor to be her student!"

Mi Young couldn't stop laughing at Jong In's reddened face.
