16 Chapter 16 - A Formidable Student

Everyone looked at Jong In upon hearing his answer, and all of them had the same thoughts running inside their minds, 'How could you not know it was her? You were with her the whole time?'

Mi Young cocks her head to the side seemingly confused with everyone's astonishment, "Uhm yeah? That's me."

Hearing the girl's answer, everyone's suspicions were answered. That's probably why she was able to have that high mana points. For a first year like her, she's already at Intermediate 2!

"S-She's amazing…"

"Perfected the entrance exam? She's probably a monster."

"I don't know which family she came from but I'm sure it's a powerful one."

The professor silenced his class so he could instruct Mi Young to give the power reading crystal a go. Understanding what her professor meant, Mi Young started moving her body so she could execute the Fire Ball technique.

Everyone who were watching Mi Young couldn't help but be mesmerized with the girl's fluid movements. She performed the technique gracefully like she was dancing. Seconds later, an obvious white glow started appearing each time Mi Young did a move. This made everyone look at her as if they were in a trance. Not a single soul was able to take their eyes off Mi Young, all they could think about is that if Mi Young commanded them to kill themselves, they would gladly do it without any hesitation.

But before long, the dance ended and everyone went back to their minds.

"Was that the Dance of the Swan?"

"That could be it considering everyone went into a daze just by watching her move."

"They say that the Dance of the Swan can only happen if one was able to execute a technique with the right breathing and correct movements. This means that the technique movement she just executed earlier has no single flaw in it."

When they heard what their other classmate said, everyone stared at Mi Young in awe. They never knew such a formidable student had joined their class. They even had the audacity to mock her earlier.

For a freshman, who just stayed in school for three days, to execute a movement like that and make it into a wonderful dance causing the Dance of the Swan to happen, it was worth thousands of praises.

"Miss Kang Mi Young, please fire your fireball through the power reading crystal ball please." The professor instructed, this time, his voice held respect towards the latter.

"I wonder if she has a strong fireball."

"She may have lots of mana points but there are a lot of Mages who have stronger mana points but weak power and strength."

"That's true. If she's able to have a powerful energy stronger than Ho Shi's, then she will definitely earn the trust and approval of many teachers."

Mi Young didn't waste any of her time before she shot a fireball towards the power reading crystal.

982!

"Ahh she's not that strong then."

"I told you she only has huge mana points but she's not that strong."

"Although that kind of fireball is already strong, the others have higher points than her."

"Well, thank you Miss Kang Mi Young, I believe that was strong enough considering you only learned the technique yesterday. There's still room for improvement." Professor Nam says as he sends a reassuring smile at his new student, all the students agreed upon hearing what he said.

"I'm sorry teacher, can I do it again?"

"Why so?"

"That wasn't my full power." Mi Young explains. She held out her hand and in her palm was a bobby pin. "This thing was tickling me earlier which is why I lost my focus and couldn't fire my full strength earlier. If you may, I can shoot another fireball so you can assess my true strength."

"True strength?"

"What the hell does she mean it wasn't her true power yet?"

"You mean that was just some of her strength?"

"O-Okay. If you insist." Professor Nam says as he nods at Mi Young with hesitation.

Mi Young thanked him and went to stand a few meters away from the power reading crystal once more. This time, even without executing the Fire Ball technique, she let out a huge and blazing fireball from her fist. She throws it towards the crystal and it makes a huge impact once the fireball collides with it.

Everyone waited for the numbers to show up.

2,589!

"F-Fearsome."

"How talented."

"She's a monster. She's definitely a monster!"

All of their classmates are gawking at Mi Young like she had grown three heads. At first they thought that she was just another troublesome Mage who likes to challenge professors and other people, turns out she was indeed a powerful one – which is probably why she has the guts to question and challenge professors.

"I heard she joined a bet with Lee Kwang Soo!"

"Kwang Soo? But that guy is pure evil! How can she win against him?"

"Aside from that, Kwang Soo is a very talented person despite his attitude. There was never once a single Mage who won against him."

"There's a rumor saying that Kwang Soo is so powerful that not even the teachers can withstand him."

Rumors about her bet with Lee Kwang Soo immediately resurfaced around their room as people started looking at Mi Young with mixed feelings. Some looked at her in awe and pure admiration, while others looked at her with pity.

"That was great!" Professor Nam announces as he clasps his hands together. "Since we have a couple of strong Mages in our class this year, we will definitely have the chance to win in the class battle."

"What's a class battle?" Mi Young asks Jong In as they both settle on their seats.

"It's a literal class battle between different classes of the same year level." Jong In starts his explanation. "Every end of the semester, the academy will hold a class battle between different classes to rank who is the best class. Professor Nam's class never once won a class battle – which is why seeing that a lot of his students this year have strong potential, he's excited for the upcoming class battle."

"It's just a mere class battle, why is it so important?"

Jong In smiled at Mi Young before shaking his head, "It's not just a mere class battle. The ranking of each class will also reflect on the performance of the teacher and how he is teaching his class. If your class wins, then you will become a respected teacher and everyone will immediately think that you are a great one. However, if your class turns out to be the last, then the teacher will be considered a failure for not being able to teach his class well."

"How many classes will participate in every year?"

"Hm? Each year level has 10 different classes."

"What was our classroom's rank since then?"

Jong In had a sheepish smile on his face before he answered Mi Young, "10th."

Mi Young heaves out a sigh at Jong In's words. "And you never once won? You have Ho Shi."

"We do but Ho Shi can't seem to fight against each student by himself, right?"

"Oh." Was the only thing Mi Young can say. She seemed to be in deep thought before he asked another question at Jong In, "Hey, can you show me where the library is?"

"Yeah. We can go there right after class."

Mi Young just thanked the other party with a genuine grin.

Now, it's time for her to search about inner cores and how to activate them. But at the same time, she has to find out more about her father and the secrets he has managed to unveil.
