THE UNPREPARED MARRIAGE

She was born in New York City and brought up there. Her parents died in a car accident on their way home on the night of her birthday. She was eight at the time her parents left her with billions of dollars in assets, she was their only daughter.

She was a little naive, shy innocent and calm little girl. A few weeks after the death of her parents she was taken in by her father's only brother her uncle James. He brought her to his own house and vowed to take care of her until she could take care of herself and inheritance but later changed in every way because of his greed and his wife Julie. they scheme to hide everything from her and take it all for themselves and two children, Kristen and Ariana. When she arrived at her uncle place her aunt Julie and cousins welcomed her happily but deep down they were cursing her and calling her names.

she was naive thinking of them as nice people and looking forward to living with them but all they pretend to be nice in the first week of her stay in the lion's den and later showed their true colours.

Whenever James went to work they bully her beat and insults her and death parents.

Fatou lives most of her childhood in this situation with no one to turn to but herself endure everything in silence.

One faithful afternoon 🔅 as she was doing her routine chores like always because she does all the housework all by herself even though they have maids at home but Julie forced her to do everything.

Julie came up shouting and showering insults like always and said Fatou, finish all the work within ten minutes or no lunch for you today and if I repeat myself one last time dinner will be included. she will always go inside her room crying her heart out and missing her parents and saying to her parents why they have not taken her with them and left her alone.

When she was eighteen years, she graduated from high school and was supposed to be in university but Julie compelled James not to send any further because she always said that Fatou will be marrying soon and she should be learning how to be a good wife so there was no need in furthering her education because she was going to stay home to take care of her husband and children. Fatou will only lower her head in response because one of the things Fatou feared most in this world was her aunt Julie and cousins Kristen and Ariana.

Fatou, who her aunt never allowed to step a foot outside the house. became an introverted person she was always indoors she didn't even have the guts to sit in the living room she was mostly treated worse than the maids in the house. She didn't even roam around the house always in the fear that she might meet her cousins in the next minute.

Especially, Ariana is always bullying her at every chance she received. And their mother encouraged them to do whatever they like, wherever they want to go.
