19 Chapter 19 - Soothing Touch

I am in my room right now, lying my back flat, to the soft mattress, staring blankly at the ceiling, thinking about the event we encountered last time. I am distraught of having these thoughts of my beloved father, fighting with me with no emotions. How dare they, how can they be so cruel. Who did this to him ?
I fall a tear and start sobbing my heart out. I cried until I felt the cushion becomes wet. I slowly position myself up from the bed, and wipe away the tears from my face.
"Dont worry, Rey, I wont forgive the one who did this to us ! I'll make sure they're gonna pay for this !" Tas angrily said to my head, I can feel she's sad, at the same time, furious, as well.
"I'm sorry I froze back there, Tas. If I wasn't, we might be able to capture or kill those filthy rogues back then" I pitied myself knowing that I cant even move an inch from back there, I thought that, having to train myself daily, will make me stronger and could make me to fight well.
"It is not your fault, we both froze actually. How can we fight our own relatives... thankfully Derek was there, if not, we might have been hurt or worse be killed by your own father. " Tas calmly mind link me.
Thinking about Derek, I really appreciate him back there, not forcing me to tell how I feel nor pressuring me to any of these things. I guess he deserves a gratitude from us.
I stand up, gaining my strength back, and heading towards to the bathroom, I still haven't clean myself yet and I reeked of blood scents, mixed with both mine and rogues. I need to clean myself right away, because Derek commanded us a while ago, to meet him at his office, to talk about the incident.
To think about it, I have never been in his office, nor in his room. Wait, why am I thinking about his room?
After I took a bath, drying my hair and skin, I grab some jogger pants and sweater, then heading to the hallway outside of my room. I saw some royal guards roaming around the house and ask them about where Derek's office is. They pointed one of their finger to a room at the end of the west wing, with a few steps upwards and two flower vases at each side of the door. The door has about 5 meters high, which is just above normal height, with wooden frame and metallic knob.
I stand for a few seconds in front of it, inhaling the sweet smell of my mate. Yes, I know it is his scent, because it can calm me. The scent of different flowers in a field, and the smell of a green forest. Yep, that's him.
I was about to knock when suddenly, someone pinched my belly side, due to that, I let out a small and quick squeal because it is one of my weakness, the tickling sensations from my belly side, lower armpit, nape and knees, a lot of my body parts are easily ticklish.
"Ha ha ha, I was calling you for so many times, but you seemed to be out of this world " Grace, smiling at me while putting her hands to the door knob,
" you silly little girl, standing blankly at front door of King Derek's office, what were you doing exactly?" she is still smiling before opening the door.
"Nothing..." I shrug my shoulder, following her in, feeling embarrassed, she might have seen my face while taking the air of Derek's scent back then.
Derek's office is so soothing. It has golden color around the wall, that shines brightly when the sun light touches it. It has a lot of flower vases in each corner and each side of the door, the sofas has pastel color right in the middle of the room, placed above the white wool carpet together with a wooden low table topped with glass. It also has two book cases just right in the side of the entrance door, flushed in the wall. A patio outside the square framed glass swing door behind the desk of a handsome man I met, standing slightly having his butt on the top of the desk, crossed legs, and whose eyes are brightly shining staring at me, intimately with worry? Those eyes that can drown me.
I was snap out of my thoughts when I realized that I was staring at Derek whose in front of me, while Grace is giggling at the sofa, together with Joshua and Andrew.
"U-um... You can sit down with them if you want" Derek let out a soft cough, clearing his throat, gesturing his hand to the sofas, inviting me to sit down with the others.
"Since everyone is here, I wanted to know your thoughts about the incident we encountered recently" He said as I walk slowly towards Grace and Andrew.
No one make a move first nor talk first, I guess they are waiting for me to be the one to express first. So, I decided to raise my hand, indicating that I have something to say.
"The black wolf earlier, is my father..." everyone is silent, waiting for me to continue. I gasped for a moment, taking a deep breath of air before continuing my speech.
" I dont know what happened to him but I sensed something is wrong with him, first, the family bond, it wasn't there at all, I cant get through of his mind nor connect with his eyes..."
"Yes, we saw it Rey..." Grace start to cut me, "But before that, please dont you ever go outside the border with out anyone else in your back" she said while tapping my shoulder.
"Yeah, about that... I notice that one rogue is hesitating to enter the area, so I just go towards him, to fight with him, but my wolf immediately notice about how odd it is, they might be leading me to a trap"
"Well, atleast you know that it's a trap" Derek, abruptly said to me, his voice has a lot of concern
" but what intrigued me is that they seemed to be aftering you" he added
Everyone of us nodded, then we notice that Derek is standing in stance, he seems to be talking with some one in his mind.
"... about your father, Valencio just mind linked me from the cellar..." he uttered as he slowly looking at me, "He said that the black wolf is dead, and have turned in to ashes right away" with furrowed eyebrows, and narrowed eyes, he stared at us with concern
My eyes widened hearing those from him, with out a moment after, we stand up from our places and ran outside the office, heading to the cellars.
When we got there, we saw Valencio and Doctor Alexa, inspecting thoroughly the cellar, and I saw some ashes in the ground,
"What happened?" I asked them.
"I was checking up on him, to tend to his wounds. When suddenly, the moment I touch his skin, he melted... and turned into ashes." Doctor Alexa explained.
"There is something in him..." She added,
" He is long dead... and I guess, a spell was on him, made him to move like a living one, and some one is controlling him"
"A spell?" Derek click an eye on me, "Who would have done it?"
"I dont care who did it to him, I'm gonna find them and make them pay..." with gritted teeth, my anger is now visible, I cant hold it in any longer.
"How dare they, disrespecting my father, even in his death !"
I know the moment when I saw my father again, that he is no longer living like normal, like he isn't alive anymore. Though, somewhere in my heart hoping that he still lives, but now, seeing these ashes in front of me, persuaded me and made me accept the truth. The truth that my father, as well as my pack, is no longer alive. They died that day, for that, I will avenge them.
My hand is forming into a ball, firmly, furiously, wanting to let go of my anger. But I was snap out from my fierce emotions, when I feel something warm, coming from a soft touch from behind me. Derek. He is hugging my back, with one hand on my waist and the other on the top of my head. Is he serious? He's hugging me in this place, in front of these people?
"Why dont you go to your room and have some rest first, you are tired and I know you needed some air and space to clear up your mind" he soothingly said to me and I just nod at him, submitting to his request, I nodded my head to others as well and then heading towards my room.
Just wait, father, soon, I'll bring justice to your death.
I entered my room and in a flash, I lay my body to the bed, a lot of emotions I have been feeling now. But, one thing that surpasses all is my feeling towards Derek, the way he can calm me and soothes me just hearing his voice. A lot of things are roaming in my thoughts, a moment after, I get to a deep sleep.
