Little Devil

It's now my first day in the company and as I head my way in the elevator, a lot of murmurings that they didn't even dare to hide.

'She's the adopted daughter'

'Is she even capable?'

'How I wish I was her. Hmpft being adopted and a successor without sweat'

More words came out from their mouth but I don't care. They judge base on what they see and hear. It seems like the hiring standards of the Human Resource Department needs to be adjusted. Who do they think they are? They're not even worth my time. I just raise my chin up and let my walk do the talk.

Upon reaching my fathers office, the secretary greeted me but with a sneer on her face.

"Good morning Dad," I greeted dad.

"Good morning sweetie. How's your way in coming here?"Dad ask.

"Oh you won't believe it Dad. My reputation is way too stable and your employees impression on me is way too good," I said sarcastically.

"They will change soon," he said.

"I know," I said smiling.

"Sweetie, I know that this is your first day working inside the company. We consult you on our major projects so you already know about the important ones but I still want you to know and study about the minor projects,"

"I will Dad. Don't worry and just leave it to me. You can go for a short vacation with Mom," I said.

"About that, can we bring Noah with us?" he asked.

"Emmm, well, he will be finished schooling in two months so I think you need to postpone your vacation for a bit. Noah is staying with Elijah for a month and he will be staying with you in the second month," I explained and my fathers face was like someone preparing something evil.

"If that little devil would be staying with us on the second month then I still have enough time to hide my precious items.. wait wait how about a bet with him and trap him hahahaha" father muttered to himself while laughing ecstatically.

"Dad will you stop making bets with him," I scolded him.

"Oh stop it. That devil wins most of the time. I haven't collected my loss or even half of the things I betted with him. Just wait until I have the upper hand and I will stop," he said childishly and I just rolled my eyes.

"Stop calling your grandson a little devil," I said.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever!" he just said.

We talked over a lot of things until I finally decided to tell him my request.

"Dad, their's a little request I want to ask," I said.

"What is it?" he asked.

"If possible, I would like to choose someone be my secretary," I said.

"Are you sure it will be someone capable of keeping things confidential? Our company hides a lot of secret and our competitors would always find a way to get hold of any information we have," he reminded.

"Yes, I'm sure of it," I confirmed.

"Is it capable of dealing with the underground society? Make sure not to get a wimp," he said.

"I'm sure he is more than capable when it comes to underground dealings," I said.

"So it's a He. Do i know him?" he asked.

"You know him very well Dad," I said smirking.

"Who?"Dad asked directly.

"The rebel son of Mr. Chen, one of your top secretary," I said.

"You mean Rou Chen? But that kid run away from her father at the early age of 12," he said.

"I picked him up when he was 14. He was like a lost puppy with no direction then I groomed him and the rest is history," I said.

"Ok you can bring him in. I trust in your judgement," he said.
