Jayne Roy

He snapped out of this thoughts and said, " I'm not hungry yet. I'll have later. You please eat now. Don't worry about me," for which  she nodded and opened her mouth indicating him to feed.

After having her fill, she politely let out a burp and thanked Ronnie again. He then wiped the corners of her mouth which had stains of food.

An unknown bond had already started blooming between them.

By then the medical practitioner had prepared her medicinal concoction to be given. He poured it into a bowl and asked her to drink it.

The girl had a doubtful look on her face. She looked at Ronnie and asked, "What's this? Should I drink this?"

Ronnie was a little startled by her question. He then said, "Don't worry, he's the one treating you from when I got you here. It's only because of him that you are awake today. Rest assured, you can drink it."

The girl now got an extreme sense of gratitude towards the old man. She joined both her hands and symbolically thanked him in Indian way of "namaste.*"

The old man waved his hand in a way which meant "Never mind, I'm happy that you're awake and fine."

She then turned towards Ronnie and asked him, "Now that I've eaten and have got back my energy, can we talk? Can you please explain what's wrong with me? Why is that I can't remember anything?"

Ronnie didn't want to overwhelm her feelings. He was worried if it might stress her, it might even have an effect on her health. On the other hand he had to control his own feelings of panic and worry. She didn't remember anything. He had no other option left but to tell her.

He took a deep breath and said, "sure," and went on to explain to her on how he met her that fateful day. How frantically he was crying for help and how luckily he came across this tribal people to help them.

At the end of it, the girl was indeed left speechless. She didn't talk for a while and went into deep introspection about herself.

'I fell off a mountain.

In a small tribal area where everyone knows everyone else.

But nobody here knows me.

The worst part is I myself don't who I'm

I don't know my name, how I look, how old am I, where is my family..

Then that gentle grandma I dreamt before waking up.

And this 'knight in shining armour' saviour of mine,

Is it anything less than a fairytale?

I see that unexplainable concern in his gaze, the way it lingers on my face, like I'm some mystery he's desperately trying to unscramble.

In fact, everything is a mystery.

I've become an unresolved mystery mostly to myself than anybody else.'

Unknowingly Ronnie picked up exactly on the same line of thought as she was thinking. He said, " You are like a mystery to me at the moment. I still wonder if you are for real? Or is this my illusion?"

He paused for a few seconds and continued, "You know what I'd a dream of naming my future daughter as Jayne which means blessings from the Lord. Since right now you've come to me as a wonderful blessing I'd want to call you Jayne.. Jayne Roy."

Then he looked deep into her eyes and said, "Jayne, we'll work together in unravelling the mysteries about you to trace back your past."

Indeed the couple telepathy had begun. The universe had worked in bringing them together. It was just about time for them to move ahead and uncover her mysterious path.

*Namaste: Pressing hands together with a smile to greet Namaste – a common cultural practice in India to greet someone. It is even used as a thanksgiving to God or someone who helped them.
