The Unforgiven Satyr

Chapter 1

Generic adventure one says yes, we finally beat this dungeon! Adventure Two replies about damn time now, what did that annoying undead boss drop? The third adventure replies: why are you guys in such a hurry, it's not every day that you find a hidden dungeon, especially in the… in this cursed Forest. We should take this time to enjoy the view.

The other two adventurers look at him like he is insane, for how can anyone think this undead written place full of corpses of old was anything worth viewing? Number one says let's just take a look and get out of here already this place gives me the creeps, it's like we are still being watched even after we clear this dungeon.

They nod in unison and Number Two walks over to pick up the loot, but what he finds is not a weapon nor armor of any kind, nope instead it's a book. The three adventurers looked at each other with perplexed looks. Then one of them says hey maybe it is one of those rare skill books or some quest-related item.

Well-being hopeful that they didn't just waste their time coming here, they opened the book only to find out it was a long-lost journal of some kind. The title read The Unforgiven Satyr, which just screamed of some hidden treasure locked away inside its eerie forgotten pages. But just before they could get excited over it, and were about to investigate further, the torches that lit up the boss room suddenly started to go out.

At the same time, the dungeon started to shake violently like it was collapsing in on itself. Just when the adventurers were getting their bearings back from all the shaking, they looked around the room to see rows of giant sharp barbed teeth coming out of the blackened walls that surrounded them. It's like we're inside some unknown creature's mouth, said no one in particular. They were just about to make a rush for the dungeon exit.

when they heard a peculiar sound, a primal sound, that any living being would be able to recognize if heard by itself. But it was so painfully loud that it caused the adventurers to have a splitting headache that made it impossible to discern what that sound was. That was until the ranger class among the adventure was finally able to recover enough from the mind-blowing headache.

What he heard would follow him for the rest of his life. It was in itself a simple cry, but not just a cry no but a course-set of cries from babies of all different creatures from all walks of life crying out at once in pain! If that wasn't bad enough, what followed next made them shrive down into their bones.

They saw thousands of tiny baby hands and claws and appendages that they could not recognize coming out of the darkness that surrounded them, as if they were reaching out in an attempt to grab hold of something they long lost.
