2 The Slumber

lt was the next day when Rui noticed the cat that Maia was saving has now a tiny house under the tree where she fell. He drove near the tree and found the kitten sleeping inside the house with bandage.

As Rui was trying to leave money beside the kitten, Maia came.

"What are you doing?

"I am leaving the money for the cat?"

"Are you stupid? There is no way that that would help the Maruchan."

"Oh, you already named the kitty."

Maia held down a tiny dish with mik and a can of opened tuna. The kitty started drinking the milk.

It was the first time that Rui noticed Maia in a really calmed way and thought that she was kinda... cute.

"Would you like to ride with me to the school?"

"No. I will be here with Maruchan."

"But you are klutz and might hurt yourself again! Beside, you told me yesterday that I am your friend."

He also cannot believe what came out of his mouth. He does not care for anyone. But this stubborn girl is somewhat slowly changing him.

"Nevermind." Rui was about the leave when Maia suddenly tagged his sleeve.

"Okay, i'll come with you..." That was strange, he thought.

For some reason, she calmly obeyed and got in Rui's car. He noticed that Maia quickly slept a little after she sat in his car. The nerve of this girl, Rui thought to himself. She's kinda cute though. And for the first time, a girl didn't like her. She is not like any other girl she met. She does not have any finesse. She does not look like she is the heiress of a big famous industry like Misuzuki's. Her hands have been bruised for saving a kitten. Pathetic he thought. She has a long bleached hair and tiny nose. Lips as red as rose and chubby little cheeks.

When they reached the school, Maia is still fast asleep. He did not bother to wake her up and he planned to take her to the lounge instead. He picked her up slowly. He did not noticed that there are paparazzis allover the place. They started taking picture of them. And just like that the news broke.

"Isn't that the heiress of Misuzuki is she the girlfriend of Chen Corp's Bachelor?"

Lewis saw Rui carrying Maia in his arms.

"What did you do to her?! Would you look at that, the silent Rui has got a girlfriend."

"Shut up and Call a doctor to the lounge. She must be tired."

"Yes boss." Lewis just realized the girl that Rui is carrying.

"Hold on. Isn't that the Misuzu's Heiress? Maia? Hey!" He ran to catch on Rui.

She laid her on the lounge's couch and the doctor's started checking her. Rui called Bastille and told her what happened. Bastille came to take Maia.

"Sorry for the trouble Young Master.I we'll have her doctors tend to her right away."

"What happened? I just offered to drive her to school but she fell asleep, never woke a bit on the way as if she is tremendously tired."

"The Misuzuki Family prefer not to discuss it young master. I apologize."

That really troubled Rui.

"I'll talk to the CEO and bring her the best doctors that we have. After all Chen Corp's expertise is medicine and pharmaceuticals."

"Very well then. I'll call the CEO." Bastille replied.
