Prologue

Five years ago…

Two girls are running down a sun dappled path in the middle of the rainforest. They came to a huge, old concrete wall. Some sections of the wall are covered in vines and ivy.The two sisters turn and smile at each other. The younger one tries to climb the vines but after a few minutes, gives up and slides down. They then turn around and run back in the opposite direction on the path to a small wooden cabin. The two girls go around the back of the cabin and climb up the small staircase to a tree house. The tree house was beautiful. it was an older tree house. The outside was slightly covered in vines but the inside was exactly like a fully functional house. It had a small kitchenette, and a working bathroom. Leaning against the one wall of the main room is a loveseat facing a window; and in the other room is a bunk bed. They both climb up to the miniature house. They sit at a small wooden table in the kitchenette area. They both share a pot of steaming tea. It gives off a strong, tart smell.

"Hey Raven, will we always be together?" said Aqua.

"Of course. We're sisters." Raven replied.

Raven has grown up practically her whole life being lectured on how to be evil. Her dad was a full dragon spirit and strongly believed that all people with dragon powers are meant to be evil. Raven didn't understand why she had to learn to harness her 'evil' powers anyway. But when she had gotten angry one day, she almost killed the family dog, Bubbles. And from that day on, she understood why she had to learn to control her powers. But when she was outside of the house Raven was like any other 10 year old girl on the island of bonkama. She went to school like everyone else, she had friends like anyone else. She had a good day at school until she had to go home every night from school at four pm sharp. When she got home, her dad immediately ushered her into a private room for 'lessons'. when she was three, she automatically started to show dragon spirit powers. Of course, she also showed water power symbols because he mom was a strong water spirit. She had a normal family and an older sister. She had a normal childhood. Until another challenging night when her parents were fighting again. They were fighting at the dinner table and Raven couldn't take it anymore. So she ran out of the house and towards the sisters' treehouse. Her sister, Aqua followed her. "Raven, come back!"

Then as raven ran through the cool summer air, the two girls heard a loud cracking sound above their heads.

"Aqua, look out!" Raven called as a tree branch started to crack above her sister's head. She jumped to push her out of the way. Then in the house, the two quarreling parents heard their eldest daughter scream as she thought she had witnessed her younger sisters death. And it was all her fault. The parents stopped fighting and ran out to see the terrible scene. One daughter lay motionless under a huge tree branch. And the other feebly trying to lift the branch. Tears streaming down her face. But what Aqua didn't know, was that wyvern and dragon spirits are almost impossible to kill. So instead of dying forever she lay there trying to regain strength, She felt time stop, and felt the pain from the tree and felt the Yips of the small mushrooms near her, and heard the whispers of the blades of grass. And as she felt the power of nature course through her veins, Raven then made a split second decision that probably changed her life forever…
