Prologue

Opposite to him sat a woman of unimaginable beauty clad in a robe made of an unknown material. She sat in a wheelchair, with jet-black hair freely falling like a river, reaching her waist-length.

She had almond-shaped eyes that gleamed with profound intellect, unlike any other, and curves that would put any mature woman to shame. Her glossy lip shined with lustrous light pink.

She was beautiful.

He felt an ominous gaze directed his way.

Instantly, breaking his trance like a bucket of freezing water poured on his head, he came back to his senses and gazed back at the woman who was watching him with a gaze like he owned her money.

Beside her stood a young woman surrounded by cold air like an ice-queen. Her eye is like a pair of ice-cold puddles that revealed no hint of emotion, eternally frozen. With a straightened back, she lifted her neck proudly like a peacock.

He had felt a minority of men would enjoy her cold gaze, filled with scorn. Unfortunately, this brother lacks such heavy taste.

Her eye berated no emotion and merely viewed him as a stranger calmly analyzed him with a mechanical cold gaze like estimating the price of the piece of meat, made him feel like a lab rat awaiting his dissection at the hands of a scientist.

When yesterday he transmigrated to this world, he just climbed out of the well. And before he realized he was already here.

"Y-you...are..."

"Did you forgot my face after not meeting for a few days?" A calm and mesmerizing voice rang beside his ear.

Her lip beautifully curled into a smile: "I'm your wife."

This revelation was no different than being hit by brick for a second. he stood frozen like a sculpture made of clay.

Unfortunately, his memories were in a mess like a jumbled-up thread of wool entangled with each other.

"Don't worry! I will deal with everyone who dared to lay a hand on you." Her tone was unquestionable and filled with strange assurance.

He could look at this young woman, claiming to be his wife with a face full of question marks. He left the room with a confused expression.

"Mistress, wasn't the behavior of Sir a little uncanny today." The young maiden was to first one break the silence. Looking at her, mistress seems to had fallen in deep thought.

Without a doubt! He was a bit weird today. But she attributed the sudden change in temperament to the shock of yesterday's attack.

But thinking of those people, she couldn't help but clench her hands around the armrest unceasing squeaking noises filled the air like fireworks.

She glances at the young lady and feeling her tremble. She instantly understood, this time, they had succeeded in infuriating her, the young lady. Even she couldn't help but pity those old geezers.

"But mistress, I never thought you would care so much about the matter of sir Aeron." Her anger instantly dissipated like someone had poured a tub of cold water on her.

After a period of thinking, she answered: "Even if we are not true husband and wife and reason behind our marriage wasn't love that is still doesn't give them the right to bully him. He is still my only husband and anyone who dares to lay a hand on my things. Deserve to die!"

...

Aeron laid on the soft mattress, instantly fall to sleep, and dreamt for the first time in a long while! Unfortunately, it wasn't a good dream.

A burly middle-aged man was swinging a rod made of metal-like material with his full strength at a young child that barely had reached the age of nine-year-old without a hint of mercy and hesitation.

A child sat in the corner of the house curled up like a kitten, using his hands to shield his face and curling his legs inwards to guard his groin. He weathered through bashing that would leave even an adult in agony without making even a squee of noise.

The middle-aged man seems to have finally vented his frustration as he looked at the young child with a guilt-filled gaze. He wanted to apologize, but in the end, decided not to.

The young child looked outside of window only to see a world polluted with toxins and a sky engulfed by toxic gases. And skyscraper that seems to pierce even heaven.

Aeron woke up and stretched his limbs: "I just hope this world won't be as bad as that one."
