3 Chapter 3.- Flying dagger

After the dust cleared. I could see that two thirds of my brethren perished in the fight.

Together only few skeletons and skeleton mage survived the battle inside of tunnel.

As I stepped through corpses of invaders I could see that some of them were still holding on thin straws of life.

The old man who was during whole battle hiding behind a boulder now came out and started inspecting corpses.

Surprising all of us the nearly dead rogue, from invaders side, threw with his last breath a dagger, that pierced right through old mans throat.

In shock, we stared at the old man. As the old man fell to the ground, grasping for every breath, I felt invisible hand taking down something, like a veil from my mind. I felt free. I did not feel chained to the, now dead, old man.

With our creator dead, me and my peers were released of our servitude to him.

Just after a brief of time remaining skeletons started to scatter and walk away. We were now monsters devoid of master, and without purpose.

I too took of my own way. I choose to return to our birth place inside one of the caves.

It didn't take long to return to the cave as it was near the caves intersection. After entering the cave I was met with very gloomy sight.

Inside the cave was lots of large mounds of rocks and soil. I suspected that these mounds were graves. These graves surely belong to fallen adventurers that ventured inside of this cave system. Small portion of the graves were open. These, I guessed, were mine and my peers graves.

Walking through the sloppy graveyard I spotted at the ground an amulet. It was copper amulet with big polished ruby covering whole front of amulet.

As I reached out to grab it I heard voice.

'Take me to my master. Take me now !'

After touching the amulet the voice disappeared but words still resonated in my head. Without master I don't have purpose, so I was greatly pleased that I had new purpose. And that was:

Bring this amulet to its master.
