12 THE CHAT

Looking at his father's back Raj couldn't help but feel sad, he knew his father always loved children. After Raj's mother died he didn't remarry, saying 'according to our tradition marriage is a one time life event and my wife may not be physically present but she still lives in my heart.'

Harshitha had been observing the father and son, when she looked at Raj who looked sad, she didn't know why but she felt as if he was too fragile.

Raj quickly regained his stability and nodded to Harshitha, indicating that she should open the door. Harshitha went near the door, the defence system scanned her and opened the doors of the mansion.

Raj didn't have any mood to check out the mansion, what kind of mansions hasn't he seen? He feels that his house at the N-H Forest is still the best. So he said to Harshitha directly "we need to have a chat."

Harshitha knew that this would happen, she too had things she wanted to tell him. So she nodded and sat down.

Raj too took a seat, but before he could say anything Harshitha asked "How long does it take for my father to be completely cured?"

"I don't actually know, I have already ordered my NC to check and search for the herbs that are required, after the herbs are obtained all i need is a week." Said Raj truthfully.

Hearing this Harshitha wrinkled her brows and said "Are the herbs really that hard to get?"

Raj said "I don't think you would understand if i elaborate it to you in medical terms, so I'll just say this the herbs required for this medication are rare, so it would take some time to actually gather them."

Harshitha nodded her head and said "Now let me honestly tell you that I don't like you, neither did i agree to this marriage whole heartedly. I agreed only so that you can cure my father and after you cure my father, i think we better divorce."

"What? Do you know what you're saying? Divorce? I don't know if you know this or not, but in our family marriage is a one time event in life and you say you want a divorce? Aren't you just playing with my life?" Raj said with rage.

How can Raj not be angry? He compromised and promised himself that he needs to treat her better, further more according to their family tradition if he divorce her then isn't he suppose to be alone for the rest of his life? F**k are you thinking that my life is easy to play with?

Harshitha didn't know that there was such a tradition in their family, but just because of their tradition says so she wasn't going to live her life with this lazy guy. 'Just look at him, he's lazy and his looks are average, I would be out of my mind if i choose him as my life partner.' She thought.

She pointed towards him and said "I don't care what tradition your family follows, i don't want to live my life with you. Just look at yourself in the mirror, do you think you have the qualifications to be my husband?"

Raj didn't know what else to say to this girl anymore. What she did say was true, he didn't have the qualification with his looks, but that didn't mean everything right? He thought 'Wait why does it look like I'm asking her to stay in my life? If we divorced isn't it still better for me? I could live my life happily alone and peacefully! But what about the old man?'

Thinking about his father Raj had a headache, seeing Raj was silent and was thinking things through, Harshitha also watched him in silence. She knew he would never agree to divorce her, she also thought that what he said about marriage a one time event as a lie he used.

Raj was currently thinking how he is to deal with his old man, if he knew Harshitha's thoughts he would surely say 'aren't you being narcissistic? Why would i not agree to the divorce?'

Thinking for a long time Raj made a decision 'he would wait for 6 months to see if she would at least give him and this marriage a chance. But even after 6 months if she insists on divorce, then there's nothing he can do and divorce is the only option.'

In regards to this decision, he could also tell his old man that he did what he could do to keep this marriage alive, but she didn't want to live with him. And secondly both his old man and her father are friends, divorcing her would also affect them. He doesn't know what his fan boy father in law will say about this matter, but it is all in the future.

If she's willing to give this marriage a chance, then all this wont be necessary. Thinking upto here, Raj looked at Harshitha and said "Okay. Have it your way." And went into a room.
