85 Chapter 85 - Heartless Animal

Suddenly the door opened, harshly revealing Adrian who was badly injured. He couldn't even walk properly. A lot of cuts and bruises were visible on his face. He went into a room straight. It wasn't his room. Adrian had never opened the door of that room before. Even when Jennifer came to his home. Adrian looked at Crystal who wasn't even slightly disturbed. Then he stared at Jennifer. Jennifer could feel the energy pass between them. The electricity. The sudden urge of a deprived soul.

"Adrian.." Jennifer began to speak as her foot followed into his direction. Before Jennifer could do that, Adrian ran inside his room and shut the door on her face. Various noises could be heard. As if he was throwing stuff and screaming. The crash of glass . The noise and scuffling. Jennifer looked at Crystal in confusion. She wasn't exactly sure about what she should do. Whatever she did, she had to do it right and soon. Otherwise Adrian's situation would get only worse.

"Can I go in that room?" Jennifer asked. "Are you crazy? He'll kill you." Crystal told her. "Don't go in there if you love your life." Crystal laughed a mean laugh. "But I love him more than my life." Jennifer was getting more and more confused by the second. She was sure that Adrian wouldn't hurt her but then, had she ever seen Adrian this angry? Why was Adrian angry? C'mon Jennifer! Do something. You can't just let this happen. You can't let Crystal win.

Jennifer took a deep breath as she twisted the door knob. She saw Adrian punching a boxing bag without gloves due to which his already injured hand became worse. Blood oozed out of his bandages. He kicked the boxing bag and then turned around to punch the wall but before he could punch the wall, he felt two arms secured around his torso.

It was Jennifer. She had locked her arms from behind, making it some version of a back hug. Adrian wriggled to get away from her grip. "Please Adrian … please… Don't do this." Jennifer whispered as she gathered all her strength to keep Adrian within her embrace. How strong was he! "Let go! I will only hurt you. Let me go. I'm a heartless animal!!! Don't you understand?" he said in a cracked tone. Jennifer could feel the amount of hurt in his voice. The burden. The pain. It was gut wrenching.

"Who told you that you are an animal? Hmm. Do animals dance that perfectly? Do animals treat each other's wounds? Do animals fall in love the way you love me?" Adrian stopped at this sentence. She was still holding on to the hope that he would come around. How pure! Little does she know, when Adrian would be ready to come around, Jennifer will already be thousands of kilometers away from him. When this all will crash, nothing will be left but darkness and pain. Why keep hope when it brings nothing but sufferings.

"And about the heartless part…. You're anything but heartless. I can feel that. Do heartless people dance with this passion. These emotions in their eyes. You're a normal person and I am the witness to that. Once I was the only thing that made your heart beat. They said that. But even now, your heart is filled of love, care, affection and respect for all. I know it." Jennifer said as she went from happy to hopeful to despair in different parts of her speech.

Adrian chuckled slightly. "You are STILL the only person who makes my heart beat." But the sad reality said something else. She was no more. She was past. Gone and mixed into an oblivion of emotions, memories and situations. Retrieved only under the influence of a strong alcoholic drink. Jennifer hugged Adrian even tightly. He turned around and faced her. Jennifer saw his face. He has so many wounds. His bloodshot eyes due to crying.

She couldn't help but tear up seeing his condition. She hugged him tight, as if he was going to evaporate into thin air. Immediately he too wrapped his arms around her and broke down into a puddle of tears. He snuggled into her neck and started sobbing. Jennifer could feel her tears come but she pushed them back. She had to stay strong for Adrian, just this once. God know when another moment like this will come. A moment where their past wouldn't matter. A moment where Adrian would stop acting like his world will fall apart if he looked at her. A moment where there would be no space for anything but love. Pure and untouched love.

Jennifer patted his sweaty black locks to calm him down. They both were pushed against the wall, back to back sitting in each other's embrace as the world kept turning bit it didn't matter. The only thing that mattered was him. After a few minutes, Jennifer noticed that Adrian was asleep. She recalled that one of the maids told her that he hadn't slept for two days straight. The day since Jennifer returned home. And then you have the audacity to say that you are a heartless animal! Huh?

Jennifer tried standing up but Adrian pulled her down on the floor and land directly on his lap. "Please don't leave me… not you please." He said half asleep. Jennifer kissed his injured knuckles and said, "I'm here with you." But stopped. She was about to add "And I'll always be." How can she when all he does is push her away like a parasite. Till when are you going to hold up the hope of him coming back to you? Till when exactly? FOREVER. Till the time he doesn't come back in reality. Is there actually any option of loosing hope?

No. I don't want to break so much that I will never be able to heal again. Jennifer laid his head on her chest. The future was uncertain but all she had was now. And now Adrian was hers. Stay happy with what you get. "Adrian… Addy… c'mon let's go to the bedroom. You can rest on your bed." She said while slightly patting his cheeks. "Please stay… please .." he said.
