5 Chapter 5- The opposites

Jennifer was dumbfounded to see Adrian coming towards her. Jennifer's mother whispered to her, "Jennifer, This is Mr. Rains and Mrs. Rains. The boy behind them is their son, Adrian rains. They are the owner of Rains association, our rival company. They are today's chief guest. We have signed a deal with them and this might be the biggest deal our company ever signs. It is very important for us."

Jennifer nodded slightly. She wished Mr. and Mrs. Rains and led them towards the bar. After offering them drinks Jennifer and Adrian came aside to let their parents talk. "So, how are you Adrian?" Jennifer asked as she tried to strike a conversation between them. "Fine" Adrian just gave a short reply. Just then it struck Jennifer! She asked "Adrian can I ask you a question?" Adrian slightly nodded his head in affirmation.

"Can you please elaborate what you meant in school by choosing my friends carefully. " The emotions on Adrian's face took an uneasy turn. With a slight strain in his voice all he said was "you'll see" Jennifer couldn't understand what he meant by "you'll see".

She was about to ask him to clarify it further when Adrian interrupted her train of thought by asking "Do you want to drink?" "Yes" Jennifer said and they went towards the bar. Jennifer ordered a mojito while Adrian got himself a cosmopolitan. They both talked while sipping their drinks. Slowly they both got acquainted and became comfortable with each other.

Jennifer was really shocked that the cold person in school that everybody feared and every girl drooled over was actually a nice person who was really easy to talk to. She had never felt so comfortable with anyone on their first meeting. It was like she was meeting an old friend.

She was confused, so curiosity got the best of her and she asked "Adrian how come so cold at school but right now you don't seem so cold?" This question brought a small smile on Adrian's face "It's not that I'm cold but it's that I just have a past that not everybody can digest. Only James knows all about that and sometimes he is also baffled by my behavior."

"Try me" Jennifer wanted to know all about this person in front of her. She wanted to grasp as much as she can. In her eyes Adrian was like a deep sea, calm on the surface but that is because you can't see what's going on inside.

And indeed Adrian was like a deep sea not because he was calm on the surface but because he was dangerous. More dangerous than anyone can even think. Even if light reaches the surface, the bed of ocean will always remain dark. In Adrian's eyes Jennifer was like the open sky above- limitless, free and most importantly full of light.

Although he was in love with Jennifer, the moment he laid his eyes on this beauty but he very well knew that the sky and sea only appeared to meet at horizon. In reality they are apart. Hundreds and thousands of meters apart. Adrian was like the lion that can easily devour a prey like her faster than one could blink but even the thought of harming her was painful to him, beyond extent. Adrian was in love with her more than he thought he would ever fall.

But this beauty in front of him was innocent pure and angelic. Her voice, smile, hairs, aura, everything was just enough to drive him insane. Her scent, her clothes, her walk, her talk everything seemed like a bait and Adrian was helplessly attracted towards her. He wanted to tell Jennifer all about his past but decided otherwise. He promised himself that he would tell her all about him but this wasn't the right time. He would wait till the time actually came.

Luckily the music started. "Can I have this dance, miss Jennifer." Adrian asked while bowing like a gentleman. His sexy, masculine voice tingled every inch of her body. "Sure" Jennifer said with a grin and placed her hand in Adrian's. Adrian took Jennifer to the dance floor and both of them started dancing gracefully.

Their bodies moved in rhythm and they danced as if they were a single soul in two bodies. Each step glided into another and with every passing second Jennifer was losing herself in the music. It was alluring, mystifying and simply beautiful. Adrian took one of her hands and placed it smoothly on his lower back and held the other one in his hand. He then slipped his arm behind Jennifer and pulled her close leaving no space between their bodies. Jennifer's heart skipped a beat and her brain stopped functioning and all she could do was follow his lead.

She never thought it would feel like this exhilarating, intense, magical and so much more. She wondered if Cinderella felt this way when she danced with her Prince for the very first time. Her heart was beating so loudly but strangely she didn't feel tense. She was dancing with him so smoothly, just following his lead and she knew she couldn't be amazed but she was.

He was just so good at this. The way he touched her, the way he led her, the timing of his every moment were all perfectly in sync with the music. He was noticeably graceful in his movement and adding to it a slight hint of ignorance that was probably drilled into him she could not think of anyone else who drew her attention without trying, not even the most amazing successful actors in the world could compare. He was simply magnificent.

After a few moments in this blissful heaven the music stopped indicating that their dance was over. Jennifer didn't want to leave the dance floor yet but Adrian pulled her hand and pointed towards a direction so she followed his lead.
