16 Chapter 16- Calm down!

"Jennifer"…..

"Do you know no any place where I can go and cry a little?" Adrian's eyes widen as million thoughts set to his head as he takes a chance. Slowly he turns Jennifer's figure so she's facing him fully, gently before tucking her face into his chest. Adrian was determined to make her feel as beautiful as he saw her. Feeling the sobs wreck through her body as her hands tightened at the shirt material on his chest. "Don't you have a class to catch or something?" Jennifer asked out of nowhere, obviously trying to change the subject.

Adrian placed a finger under Jennifer's chin and raised her head so they were making an eye contact. "Nothing is important right now. All that matters is you." He said, making Jennifer sigh in relief. Jennifer knew that she had cried in front of Adrian before but right now she didn't feel like crying anymore.

She pulled him towards the bench where she told him to sit down while she grabbed the first aid kit out of the little box at the entrance of the locker room. "Why did you help me? No one told you to get involved." She mumbled while she toom care of the wounds on his knuckles. He giggled in pain. "Is this what I get for helping you out? hmm... I expected a thank you but I guess you are full of surprises." Sarcasm dripped from Adrian lips like sweetest honey. Jennifer gulped.

"I can't believe that I trusted him. I should have know better. I feel so stupid right now". Jennifer placed her elbow on her knees and covered her face with her hands. "You are not stupid for falling in love. Honestly, I never really understood why you dated him in the first place. Seeing how you get for him and love him… he's a prick for hurting you". Adrian kept talking while Jennifer continued to put crème on his wrist where a dark bruise was visible. When she had taken care of all the wounds, Adrian got up and said "Thank you. I know that you are not feeling okay so, would you like to skip school and come with me?" Jennifer thought for a while and replied, "No. My parents are really strict when it comes to my education."

And with that she walked away leaving the conversation hanging.

The moment Jennifer left, Adrian's mind started bustling with thousands of thoughts. But first things first, he took his phone out of his pocket and dialed a phone number. The phone was picked up in a second. Then Adrian spoke in a deep voice "Winston. Downwington High School."

"Yes boss." The man of the receiving and said before Adrian hung up the phone.

Adrian was now worried about Jennifer. He ran towards the gym and saw her sitting there as if nothing had happened few minutes ago. At first, Adrian was relieved that she wasn't crying but then James words rang in his ears. "You need to understand the girl." Adrian thought over it and deduced that Jennifer might act strong in the school but she will cry when she gets back home.

Meanwhile, Jennifer's mind was racing thousands of possibilities on how to kill Winston. She was fuming with anger. Undoubtedly she was hurt but her anger overpowered all her emotions. She wanted to choke Winston to death. She was utterly disappointed in Abby. These were the only two people she had known and opened up to. These were the only people she trusted and now it felt like her entire world was collapsing. For the first time, she felt as though she never knew anybody properly. When Abby and Winston accompanied her, She felt so happy and complete that she didn't even feel like having any other friend.

Consequently, She had no other friends. Jennifer felt lonely. Everybody seemed like a stranger. The coach was speaking but Jennifer wasn't registering anything. Finally when the class was over, she got up and left. Since next was the lunch break, She went into the cafeteria but all the food seemed tasteless. She didn't feel like eating but she knew she had to eat. It was for the benefit of her own body. So she ate. While she was having her lunch, she saw Abby approaching her.

"Jennifer…Can we talk?" Abby said. "No." Jennifer give a short reply. "Please." Abby begged further. Jennifer knew that this wasn't going to end pleasantly so she got up from her seat and tried to get out of the cafeteria but Abby caught her wrist. That was when Jennifer lost it. She slapped Abby harshly on her face. "I told you no means no! There is nothing left to say. Don't come near me. EVER…." Jennifer said while fuming in anger. Abby was new to this side of Jennifer. She had received the shock of her life.

Her best friend had slapped her. But for the sake of their friendship she decided to try again. "Jennifer listen to me…" She was cut off when another hard slap landed on her face. "You bitch! Didn't I tell you to go away. Go away.." Jennifer yelled at her while constantly punching her in the gut. Jennifer didn't notice when Abby became unconscious or when she started bleeding.

Meanwhile Adrian was walking in the school corridor when James came running to him. "Adrian….. Adrian…. Hurry. Jennifer got into a fight". He yelled. Adrian was beyond shocked. He never thought that a girl as sensitive and soft as Jennifer would ever get into a fight.

He was too shocked to even move. James snapped him out of his state. " Hurry up or Abby might lose a few teeth". "Abby? How did Abby enter the scenario?" Nevertheless Adrian and James ran into the cafeteria. They saw people huddled in one corner of cafeteria. Shoving people to one side they saw Abby lying on the floor and Jennifer over her, hitting her furiously. Adrian didn't even waste a second before back hugging Jennifer, stopping her from hitting Abby almost instantly. "Shh… Jennifer calm down. You don't want her to die." Adrian said.

Jennifer kept struggling against his large hands and muscular arms but in vain. After all, Adrian had already been into a couple of fights in this single week only. After a few minutes, Jennifer stopped struggling. She lay there still like a corpse but panting heavily. Her breath could be heard in the entire cafeteria. Slowly and quietly, Adrian supported Jennifer till she was back on her feet.
